That’s some backwards thinking. Of course the Chiefs dictated how defenses would play them, and the Chiefs had to counter because teams were scared to death of getting beat over the top.

That’s how football works.

Countering is taking what the defense is giving you, throwing to Kelce, Hardman etc.

Being dictated to is changing the routes that Tyreek runs.

I’d be down.

The nice thing with Chris Olave is that he can win both short and deep. So he'd work with Hurts, or whatever QB we'd want to draft next year. I feel better about him than Williams who requires a strong-armed QB to unlock.

Said another way, the Chiefs dictated how defenses had to play them… The whole point of two-high coverage is to take away the deep ball after all.

Corral has the most punchable face of all the draft prospects; even more than Josh Rosen a few years back.

If the Chiefs were dictating how defenses played, they would have kept running Hill deep and clearing out for Kelce, Hardman, Pringle, and waiting for the deep shot to open up.

The fact that they changed the offense and the routes that Hill was running, means the defense dictated to them how to run their offense.

It's alarming how far behind the curve the Eagles are.  Not suggesting they should have traded 5 picks for Hill but it's clear that the majority of NFL teams realize that you need 3-deep at WR.  The dolphins are now 4 deep with Hill, Parker, Waddle and Wilson.  Then you have the AFC West.  Bengals, Browns, Steelers, Buccaneers...the list goes on.

NFC East...Eagles on the bottom looking up.

Dallas- Lamb, Gallup, Washington, Brown

Washington- McLaurin, Samuel, Brown (most likely draft WR high)

NYG- Shepard, Toney, Slayton, Golladay

Eagles- Smith, Reagor, Watkins, Pascal

Just bad.

Smitty with either one of the OSU WRs would be one hell of a duo. Coupled with Watkins as the #3.

Our WR core would be good to go.

Was 2017 a good football team or just lightening in a bottle? We weren't able to do much after even in a horrible division

I’d say it was both. Definitely lightening in a bottle, but damn, what a bolt of lightening it was!

Corral showed off today , my only QB worthy of a first rd pick

Do you think he will fall to the Bucs?

Would just need a QB to get them and Goedert the ball.

That's the whole enchilada.

The Chiefs’ explosive plays to Hill is what spearheaded teams going to such a high number of two-high looks. That’s dictating what the defense does. Not everyone wants to play with that look.

I get what you’re trying to say, but all of this was initially dictated by the Chiefs’ explosive plays. The defense isn’t dictating much of anything other than trying to survive and hope for a mistake.

No

They defended him with two high safeties, took the deep stuff away, and the Kansas City offense was bogged down for the first half of the season.  They then had to adjust the offense and get the ball to Hill more on short passes,  that is why he had his lowest YPC since his rookie year.

The Chiefs through Hill did not dictate to NFL defenses how to defend them, the defenses dictated to the Chiefs how they were going to have to run their offense.

This was a trend throughout the playoffs, and one reason a YAC WR like Chase has more value these days than speedsters - because he can make a living taking crossing routes to the house. Or why Kupp is special with 4.6 speed, because two high isn't going to slow him down like a big play WR - he'll find the weak spots.

Reagor should be that guy who takes short passes and turns them into big gains, but . . .

Corral is a very intriguing prospect. His biggest red flag is that he runs to much, but not because of deficiency in his passing or processing.

Would need to coach that out of him

Nothing, it was a buffet. The Golden Corral

He was already my fav WR in the draft, now more than ever.

He's my favorite too. Or, I think he's the best and isn't coming off an injury. I do like Williams a lot too but Wilson slightly ahead.

Daniel Jeremiah's latest mock has Travon Walker going 2nd, Jermaine Johnson 7, and George Karlaftis 15. All 5 of the big time DE's gone before the Eagles pick. He has them taking Wyatt, Lloyd, and Mafe.
