We need a real QB, someone who can read coverages and made their leaving with good decisions and accurate throws. Not many "Projects" work out in the NFL at that position. Those type of QBs should be drafted later. 2nd round maybe but lets be honest, Riddler wont be there at our pick in the second round even though thats where he should go.

Ridder to me has the highest ceiling in this class, but also a low floor. He has the size, the ability to read defenses and progressions, the arm strength, and the athleticism.

I think Corral is close, but not Willis, did he even have progressions at Liberty?  He wasn’t reading defenses and does he even understand coverage rotations?  Willis has elite arm strength, and he’s mobile but is he even faster than Corral? Or Ridder?
Pickett IMO is the most ready to start day one and he has the highest floor.
Which is why I don’t get the comparisons with Carr, this past season at Pitt he resembled Joe Burrow more than anyone else.  From small hands to decent athletes, average arm strength, height, Joe Brady’s offense at LSU vs Whipples at Pitt.
Pickett may have had more responsibility and Burrow had the tougher conference, but Burrow also had Jefferson and Chase, no tandem at Pitt comes close to those two.
He’s not going to be Joe Burrow, but their games and talent levels are very similar.

Barnett on a 2 year deal sums up the off-season.

I can't wait for Adam Caplan to talk about his sources etc, trying to spin this as a win for the Eagles; a player who had no visits to other teams in FA or was rumoured to have interest elsewhere - I looked at that the other day. No one but the Eagles even bothered to rake the coals on that fire

Zach Berman made a good point on BwF this week. He said that a gauge of how well a team are doing can be what level of interest their free agents get. The Eagles FA have barely had any interest. Says a lot.

I'd noticed the same.  Avery meeting with the Falcons and Singleton going to the Broncos on a 1 year deal was as good as it gets for Eagles FAs. Etc

Have they had any interest from other teams?

Nah, this is what is happening:  Howie is so good at managing the cap that he's able to retain all the players he wants, and at affordable prices that lead to future flexibility allowing the Eagles to target the biggest names on the market and 'monitor' the situation.

He's retaining a lot of players who aren't that good then...

You said it, not me.  I've come around.  Howie is a genius.

I'm just watching how his cap management is allowing us to make any move we want, with no limitations of any kind.

What moves are they exactly?

Should... being the operative word.   Had Howie played his cards right, it could have been 2022.   No worries, Howie is already lining up ways to carry copious amounts of dead money to 2024.

Fans in the blog are mad at resigning Barnett, Ward and Scott despite paying real money to Reddick.

There's no way the fans would have been fan with putting all the dead money into 2021 and 2022.

Yup, for all the hate hurts gets in here those same people are now proposing he's worth something in a trade.🤔

Seriously? Barnett?

f off howie

Teams do crazy things for QB's, there is always someone who thinks they can maximize untapped potential, whether they have it or not.

Evidently...

No.

Well, that all comes down to how it's marketed.   IF the mastermind behind the giant cap problem were canned, the new GM could come in, declare that it will be lean while digging out of the hole left by the previous GM, and we'd be ready to spend again in 2023.   Not a 'rebuild', but a 'reset' of the cap.

Perhaps the vitriol about the lack of moves of any significance would subside more affably if the same guy that created this mess, wasn't the one also doing nothing while his minions talk about how the cap hasn't impinged on any moves for this team.  Maybe.

I think a lot of that is sarcasm, or hoping to fleece another team.  I doubt any of them are serious.

I doubt money had much to do with anything this FA. They don’t want to overpay, but they could.
