Draft position doesn’t seem to matter as much for DBs, especially safeties, as many other positions.  Lots of duds in the first two days followed by gems found later in the draft and even free agency.  Gowan and Vincent fell because of taking a year off because of Covid and then declaring for the draft. Gowan is a little green but has such great reaction and burst.  His length helps.  Vincent’s height and weight are an issue. Heck Matheiu dropped in the draft for similar reasons (third rounder, tagged as a nickel back).  Scott slipped because of injury issues and height.  But all are good gambles. Maybe just depth, but I think more is very possible.  But Harris doesn’t help other than being a veteran voice in the room.

Absolutely.  But, I don't plan my retirement based on hoping to hit the lottery, or winning in Vegas, even if the odds aren't that bad.

How did we get a Reddick workout video before a Hurts video?

So, what I am seeing here... is that Reddick is basically a rookie.

I cant remember a dude who dropped so fast

He was a top 5 pick 3 years ago and probably 2 years ago and now he's forgotten

thats why people need to stop hyping next years QB class. It happened to every one in this years class. And it happens all the time.

Ok, I couldn't resist the meme game:

I thought it was more of an open relationship.

agree 100% theres 1 or 2 that usually come out of no where each year and are drafted first round.

Who had Kenny Pickett as a top 10 going into last season....

IIRC Wentz had a name but not a top 5 name going into that year.

Willis was a darkhorse to possible rise up boards. But wasnt really considered a 1st rounder before the year either. And honestly he didnt come close to earning it with his play this year either. People are just going crazy over arm strength right now. Josh Allen effect.

But Rattler imploded. Howell didnt take the next step. Ridder didnt take the next step. Corrall didnt really light the world on fire. Literally every one of what was supposed to be an incredible QB class has disappointed to some extent.

That’ll be fun.

This offseason with the QB craze has skewed the draft boards big time. It went from a consensus of none of the QBs are really first round talent to now we have a chance of multiple going in the top 10.

Willis being picked #2 confirmed.

I don't hate Malik Willis at #2. They have Goff under contract for a while and are loading up on the OL. They're gonna be loveably bad again next year, and Willis will have zero year 1 expectations.

I don’t get everyone clamoring for another top WR. Hurts can’t even feed the mouths currently on the roster. If we had an actual QB though, that would be a different story.

Me neither.  If They like Hurts and want him to be successfull, they should be clamouring for a huge Powerback that can run into 8 and 9 man defensive fronts and still gain 3.5 Yards.

Maybe this says more about the class than anything else, but I like Howell the most out of the QBs in this draft. Not ideal height but a lot of good throws in his first two seasons when he was surrounded by higher caliber talent. Became more of a dual threat guy this season and showed some surprising athleticism though he needs to quit trying to run people over. His heat as a high draft pick dimmed primarily due to a weaker supporting cast IMO. In the right NFL situation I think he might surprise and then people will go back to the resume -- blue chip recruit, in the discussion as the best QB prospect for a few years, etc. -- and wonder how he fell through the cracks.

Yeah. Part of me wonders how soon they will be divorced once she has used him for all she can or if they will do another Oprah interview to talk about being picked on by the Royal Family and UK Govt for not being able to get adequate personal protection to attend his Grandads memorial service for see his ailing Grandmother.

The grift is strong with those 2 and there are plenty of people who slurp it up.

For the life of me I cannot understand the hostility to Megan Markle, nor to Prince Harry. If you want to bust on a Royal, it should be Prince Andrew, whom they covered for for years. If you have a 10-year-old daughter, he's your new best friend.

Yep.  When your number 1 receiver is 36th in targets, I don't see how adding another receiver helps.

Which QB, if any, in this draft would be the most likely to get Smith to a 1500 yard season?

My best friend is a producer at extra, I’ll just say there’s plenty of substantiated rumors that they used it was an open marriage so Jada didn’t look more like a c u next Tuesday for banging August Aslina.

I choose not to discriminate, i dislike them all (for different reasons), maybe Andrew a bit more, but I have enough dislike to go around.

Chris Rock made a cruel joke about a woman’s medical condition. He deserved what he got.

I don’t know.

This of course assumes he knew her hair style was not a choice or fashion, and knew she had alopecia. He may have, I dont know, but either way, even a tasteless joke on stage doesn't deserve voilent actions?

I mean are we really at that place in time right now? Where violence is justified because of a tastless joke about a non life threatening health condition?

Net yards per attempt is the most important stat for a QB? For what? If you throw 30 interceptions, that has no bearing on NY/A. That’s not as important a stat?

Here are members of the top 25 all time NY/A leaders:

Jimmy Garropolo (ahead of Drew Brees)

Tony Romo

Dak Prescott (better than RWilson)

Matt Shaub (yes seriously)

Kirk Cousins

Derek Carr

Jared Goff

Jameis Winston

That’s not just 1 big season, that’s career leaders. I’m going to have to disagree with your QB-judging acumen, this is not even close to the most important stat.

And Deshaun Watson is quite literally the most accurate QB in the history of the National Football League. Probably not the best comparison as to why he gets a pass on a bad playoff performance.

NY/A has been correlated with winning more than any other QB stat.

https://www.stadiumtalk.com/s/most-important-stat-in-football-47ea57ca1f5249d9

You have to look at the entire package, but the reason NY/A is key is that it measures what a QB should be doing, gaining net yards per play. Having a gaudy completion % don't mean much if you're losing oddles of yards to sacks (Watson). Smart QBs shouldn't have a great completion % unless they're in a dink and dunk offense b/c they should be willing to throw the ball away (or in the case of a mobile QB, take off) instead of forcing the ball into double coverage.

FR also has an "adjusted yards per attempt" that attempts to value TDs and interceptions as well. Hurts is 15th in that measure.

Hurts is 17th in DVOA as a passer (which excludes his value as a runner). Tua was 18th, with both a gap between them and the top 16, and the bottom feeders.

I've seen enough QBs "win ugly" and "lose pretty" over the years that I value efficiency over form.

Hurts has to become more efficient, he doesn't have to throw 50 yard spirals flat footed.

I was gonna jump into the meme game but I'm lazy....can someone make these 2:

1: Will Smith: Jalen Hurts/Chris Rock: Siri's gameplan and playbook

2. Will Smith: Jalen Hurts rolling left/Chris Rock: Jalen Hurts OL telling Hurts to trust them.
