Good news is that we're probably one of the few teams that has a OL good enough to give Strong a decent shot at succeeding if he's actually that unathletic.

We’re not getting Strong.  That much I can guarantee.

I keep going back and forth between taking a QB this year or trading back for assets next year to move up, should one rise to warrant it. However, too many things needs to happen for that to come to fruition.

I just want a path out of Jalen Hurts at this point.

You heard the leadership this week.  At this point, get used to him for another season.  The blame is no longer on Howie.  He’s just a pawn.  That should have been tossed a long time ago.

I’ve heard they are "committed” to Hurts in 2022 but that doesn’t mean that they don’t draft one to sit behind him for 2023. Also I don’t buy a word of what Lowie says at any point.

I'm in the same boat.  I just think moving up next year won't be so easy. If the top 2 teams need a QB they won't trade and if they don't they'd be more likely to trade down a few spots not 15.  That's why I'd almost rather take a crack at a guy this year and if he sucks then you have a good pick for next year and if he's promising then that's even better.  Winning 8 games with Hurts running a lot  is a worst case outcome imo

Pretty ironic who your QB is now, huh?

🤣

If they draft a QB this year and keep Hurts, I think Hurts starts to until they’re out of contention or gets hurt (not that I wish that on him).

Karlaftis tested a lot better than expected. I still would rather have Johnson over him, but am not as averse about him as before.

Taking "a crack” at a guy this year and keeping Hurts is an idiotic idea.  Either you have a guy you like this year or you don’t.  You don’t pull the same ish that you did in 2020 and draft a guy in the 1st or 2nd and have he and Hurts battle it out.  Or you’ll destroy any trade value Hurts has.

And as far as not having enough to trade up and get a guy next year.  That’s ridiculous.  We use two 1’s next year and more 1’s in future years.  I’d there’s a guy you like in the 2023 class.  That is the right call.  This years class sucks.

Okay yeah but what if there are say 2 QBs next year going top 5, it may not matter how much ammo the Eagles have to move up if there are teams already in the top 5 that plan to take them and thus refuse our trade offers. Not impossible by any means but also not a guarantee either.

I'd probably trade Hurts if I drafted a guy this year. Burn the boats. I honestly don't think he has much trade value anyway.  The one guy you might not do that with is Willis who isn't ready.  I don't know if they like a guy enough obviously. Cincy said they wouldn't trade the Burrow pick for any amount. I suspect that happens next year with the top pick or 2.  A QB needy team won't move especially after this draft. When all's said and done will the 3rd best prospect next year be worth multiple 1's?  Honestly we're lucky to get a franchise QB any of these ways. They are all likely to be misses.  Then all the talent you hope to accumulate starts to age out.

I’ve beaten my position like a dead horse.  The odds are in your favor that they’ll be better options in next years draft than this years draft.  Play the odds.  Don’t be the browns and draft a QB every year because you feel you need to.  There are just guys this year.  Nothing special.  My plan would also be better executed if our owner wasn’t a moron.  And he fired Howie and let a real GM purge this team the last few seasons, hire a real HC and then the arrow would be pointing up.  As it is, Lurie likes to run it back and here we are.

As far as burning the boats is concerned.  That’s what is needed.   All of them.  But see my post above.  And the real problem.

Yeah they re-signed Cox for 14mil. Makes no sense. It's a completely confused strategy.  Hurts is building too many allies and they are too blind to his obviously poor play. I think the only thing that will save this franchise is a disaster season.  Picking a few good players on D is nice but if it gets them 9 wins again (they won't do better) then where are you? In the same boat next year unless a QB falls in your lap.  We'll see if they can get a 1 in the next draft from a team that could fall apart but most of those teams see the danger of trading a 1 next year I'm sure. Maybe a team like the Chargers who has a franchise QB might be willing to do it.

1.  They have the draft capital to trade up into the top 5 this year, while still keeping another 1st round pick.  That may never be the case again

2.  Hurts will be going to Howie and Lurie with the expectations of a contract extension after this season, just like the Ravens and Cards are dealing with right now with Lamar and Murray — that’s where the Eagles will be at his time next March.

Draft the best prospect now.  If Stroud and Young are the "best” prospects for 2023, it’s not going to be any better and you won’t have more than one 1st round pick

So glad he's gone.

Not sure who made the graphic, but they are confusing folks.   Eagles are 4th least, not 3rd least.  Check it again to see what the graphic actually says.

Yeah, but how many has he tried to draft?   We heard earlier from him he was only in on Lane Johnson, Russell Wilson and Jordan Mailata.  JJAW was all Howie.  So, maybe Jeffie is 1 for 1.  He should draft more QBs more often.  Dude must be a savant.

Yeah that sounded like a blatant lie.

I know if I was an owner and the three guys I meddled for were studs I wouldn’t try to restrain myself more moving forward. I think he’s a good owner but I’m not buying it.

I've been watching the NFL for 20+ years now. I'm pretty sure I have a good idea how to contextually take 40 times and how they apply to games.

So yeah, a guy who runs a 4.7 can't play single high. He can't cover any WR. And he will be a giant liability outside the numbers

The Eagles should not be using a first round pick on a box safety in today's NFL

Wow 20 whole years!!!!!!! Dude everyone is sorry they questioned you. Tell ya what steaks on us!!!!!!

Taking one for the Hollywood team, stepping up, and making the Oscars relevant?  Kind of selfless of him, actually.

In effect, sure. I fail to see how anyone could think it’s fake though. Would be the first believable acting he did in his life.
