Yeah they re-signed Cox for 14mil. Makes no sense. It's a completely confused strategy.  Hurts is building too many allies and they are too blind to his obviously poor play. I think the only thing that will save this franchise is a disaster season.  Picking a few good players on D is nice but if it gets them 9 wins again (they won't do better) then where are you? In the same boat next year unless a QB falls in your lap.  We'll see if they can get a 1 in the next draft from a team that could fall apart but most of those teams see the danger of trading a 1 next year I'm sure. Maybe a team like the Chargers who has a franchise QB might be willing to do it.

Yeah but Cox wasn't a free agent that they signed, he was under contract for much much more. They must have come to an agreement that let them out of his long term deal and this was the only way out. If they simply cut him the damage was much worse than one year 14 mil.

The cap hit they took from cutting him was fixed. Then he technically became a free agent. They might have had an agreement to re-sign him but it didn't ease the hit at all. If he walked the dead hit would have been the same

The QBs in this draft don't have to be "elite" to be better than what we have.  They just have to clear the "mediocre" bar to start to upgrade the position and give us years of rookie contract back.

Back to the uniform conversation. I'm going out on a limb and guessing we see more black than green this year.

good pro days for these guys

Kyler Gordon , CB

Elijah Hamilton , CB

Jaylen Watson , CB

Maurice Berkley , RB

Tanner Connor , WO

Weren't there stories last year that Hurts was the one pushing to wear black jerseys more often? If so....one more thing to want him gone for

If that's the case, what a weirdo.

Stick with the midnight green.  The Kelly green will always be associated with the underachieving Cunningham era

Nah, there was a lot more to that "era" than that

While I don't hate the look, I much prefer the white/white away combo. Or even white top/green pants.

Maybe he ought to "work real hard" to get better at passing the football

He's not good. It stinks. It stinks that ownership seems to be delusional. But it's his skillset. Like most other failed Qb prospects. Seems like some people seem to want to find some reason to hate on him or insult him beyond that.  Seems unnecessary to me

Karlaftis tested a lot better than expected. I still would rather have Johnson over him, but am not as averse about him as before.

He's also only 20 while I believe Johnson is 24.  That is a massive deal IMO

I thought that was a restructure that he had to agree to in order for them to actually do it. He could have just told them no thanks, at least that's how I thought a restructure worked.

I mean also kelly green was part of the uniform for the entire history of the franchise prior to the change in the 90s.

I'm under the impression that the restructured contract needed his ok. Couldn't he have just said so no thanks when approached?

Let's bring back the silver pants.

It wasn't a restructured contract.  He was cut - terminating the old contract.  So, at that point, they weren't forced to bring him back at all, he was free to sign elsewhere... and frankly if the price tag was $14M, they should have let him.   You are correct, he did have to agree to the new one year deal, but not because it was a restructure.  He turned down the restructure and forced their hand into cutting him and resigning him to the new one year deal.  And frankly, its over-priced.

The last 3 years we have spent a 1st, 1st, 2nd and other picks on WR.  Where would you rank us currently at WR ???  I don’t even see sneaking in to the top 25.

For many, the Randall Cunningham era is what turned us in to Eagles fans.  That's the team I grew up with.  I was too young to realize the diva Randall was but I know I loved watching him play and I loved watching the defense.

Yes, they won the SB in Midnight Green but the AR/Donovan teams were full of heartbreak and disappointment.  Those teams were the height of my fandom and they did nothing but lose when it mattered.

Visually, Kelly Green just looks better than Midnight Green.  Sometimes it looks turquoise, other times it borders forest green and it can look black.  I think it's a terrible color for apparel and even though 90s nostalgia is a big thing right now, the Eagles uniforms, logo and wordmark are all very bad 90s stylistically.

I thought once he was cut, he would've had much higher cap hits. I thought it was restructured  then cut then a new contact. Unless the post June 1st cut designation was because of that....
