Brady sat for a year then was plugged into a dink and dunk scheme for three seasons before the blinders were taken off in 2004. He developed into the GOAT, he wasn't that guy the first few years of his career.

Brees sat his first season, struggled for two years in SD, before he broke out in his fourth season.

Alex Smith didn't have a QBR over 50 until his 7th season.

Carson Palmer was a 25 year old rookie who broke out his second season as a starter.

All of those guys were pass first QBs. They focused on their pocket work, and weren't one read and run guys. They had their priorities in order, being quarterbacks and all.

Unless House and company can convince Hurts to not run after his first read, it's all a giant waste of time. And considering the coaching Hurts has had so far, and still hasn't changed, I don't have any expectations he'll start now.

It's gotta be ideological with you. Not sure how you can hear criticism from two different teams in completely different markets in consecutive years and not acknowledge this guy has major flaws and needs to hold himself accountable.

Maybe so, but that quote was lame. So maybe you should question why you think that lame quote is a reason why you're glad he's gone.

Good. Go away. His moral superiority shtick was so annoying.

In other news, can anyone explain the new OT rules for playoffs?  Thanks in advance.

Aside from his 4.71 40 as a WR

:offtopic:

Gonna check out Wrestlemania this weekend.  Haven't watched a wrestling ppv in probably 20 years.

Being that it's in Jerry World, maybe he will be involved in the program somehow and he gets powerbombed thru a table or something.   That would be awesome.

He wanted to leave Philly because the organzation/general manager was a dumpster fire. I dont blame Wentz 1 bit

The Colts...well Irsay is being Irsay. sounds like the coaches wanted wentz, the players wanted him, everyone but Irsay who leaned on the General manager and buckled.

side note, I'd buckle to make millions and millions of dollars.

REAL PLOT TWIST... the Redskins backfield/Wide receiver group may be the best Wentz has ever had.

I honestly don't think the decision to get rid of Wentz was all Irsay.  Something is going on with that guy behind the scenes.

Both teams get the ball.

Both teams are guaranteed a possession.  If the first team scores, and you match that score, then it is sudden death.  If the second team scores more than the first team scored, game over.

He'll be shown in his club box drinking Johnny Blue as usual

Yeah but it would be so much better if Brock Lesnar broke into his club box and hit him in the head with a steel chair.

I thought they would be putting a runner on second base?

Jalen Hurts wishes he was built like Carl Weathers.

It wasn't a restructured contract.  He was cut - terminating the old contract.  So, at that point, they weren't forced to bring him back at all, he was free to sign elsewhere... and frankly if the price tag was $14M, they should have let him.   You are correct, he did have to agree to the new one year deal, but not because it was a restructure.  He turned down the restructure and forced their hand into cutting him and resigning him to the new one year deal.  And frankly, its over-priced.

I think, although I may be wrong, that there was thought process in spreading his dead cost and avoiding a guaranteed bonus.  I think that only worked with resigning him.

No way younger Carl Weathers passes a drug-test

Dont know who this is but somebody needs to post the obligatory "cmon Howie stop being so cheap," "nobody wants to come here because of Hurts" "worst offseason ever" post.

would much rather have had Key for 1-year than Barnett at the same price.

I think it was something along these lines....

Irsay to Reich/Ballard. You wanna keep him, its on you guys, and as soon as you guys miss the playoffs next year all 3 of you are done

Where getting someone else in  bought ballard/reich a couple more years regardless of results

Assuming for the sake of argument that’s actually accurate, it sure doesn’t speak very highly of Reich/Ballard’s confidence in Wentz getting them to the playoffs.

But that's not fair.  The team that gets the ball first has an advantage because they'd get the ball twice and the other team only got it once.  I think they should both be guaranteed 2 possessions.  Of course, the first team still has an advantage with 3 possessions to 2 if tied after two possessions.  This problem just can't be fixed.

Maybe the defense should play with only 10 players on the first possession, only 9 after the first, and so on... until there's just 1 guy out there trying to stop the offense.

That’s going to be the exact complaint when team 1 starts winning consistently in overtime.

It is better than one team not getting a possession at all.  I think they should just play until it is over, including playoffs, there was only 3 OT games last year..  15 minute OT, 10 minute second OT.

I also do not think that they should do a new coin toss in OT,  should be based on the start of game coin toss.  You take the ball first, you get the ball first to start OT.  You would see a lot less teams defer if that was the case.
