I'm going to watch the first round of the draft in its entirely before I come in here later on during the night.  There will be an awful lot of cranky people after seeing what Howie does with 3 picks, much less one.

Not really, anymore.  Now the preference is players that can switch.  Need FS skills or the result is like with Harris.  Could instincts with pedestrian speed results in the high S playing twenty yards off the LOS and in a back pedal at the snap.  And Harris has FS background.   Epps, a 4.53 FS that is best playing downhill.  In comparison, Mayden around 4.4, Chachere around 4.49, and Vincent 4.33 (pro day).  A FS doesn’t have to run like Vincent but it helps.  The angles the FS takes and the flip and cover on a deep WR are impacted significantly by speed.  Having a slower SS limits the defense.  My preference is two Ss with FS skills.

Like I said his length instincts make up for his lack of track speed

Go watch some tape of the guy, he's the fastest guy on the field every game, he lines up at FS SS dime LB covers guys in the slot.

He's a football player not to mention some of his slower than expected times can be attributed to a knee Injury he's dealing with.

Hamilton has shown  FS skills at college level he has shown slot skills at college level, he's shown in the box skills at college as a SS and Dime Backer and he's shown the ability to blitz off the edge in college

Will that all translate to the pros? Who knows but I'd rather take a chance on a guy who did it in college at a high level rather than a guy who didn't but ran a faster 40.

We'll see what Gannon wants In his safeties, I think Hamilton is a helluva football player if he's available at one of eagles 1st picks we'll see if they agree🤷‍♂️

I’ve heard they are "committed” to Hurts in 2022 but that doesn’t mean that they don’t draft one to sit behind him for 2023. Also I don’t buy a word of what Lowie says at any point.

And double this time of year.

Williams is 20 and is for the future. Not a move that is made with maximizing 2022

I get that, trust me. And after seeing these new contracts for WR's I'm all about drafting one, even two. Ideally I'd like to see an X who can also play big slot (ex. Alec Pierce), and a slot guy later who can bump Ward off the roster and handle KR/PR duties (ex. Bo Melton).

This stat is still wild to me.

Horrible thing to go through. Good news is he has the money to make sure he's taken care of when it gets really really bad

So you all would feel ok taking a chance after an injury? Even when we were burned by Jones and didn't take DK because of his

3rd time is the charm?

Torn. I'd rather wait until day 2 for a WR (Pierce, Watson, Pickens, Moore, Tolbert, Shakir) as we are bare in terms of young defensive talent. William's didn't really emerge until Metchie went down. He has amazing attributes, but you never know how an ACL will affect someone.

Just like his ACL!

Too soon?

It's an ACL. Dudes come back from them in 9 months and are fully recovered, maybe 10 years ago it is a different conversation.

3rd time already happened, and it was a charm: Dickerson.

That sucks.    Worst ailments I can imagine are the ones that mess with your brain, because they ultimately change who you are.

I tend to get way too infatuated with talented injury discounted players. So yeah I'd be excited but that's not to say that means it's a good idea.

You think they take a QB?   I think the Panthers will unless something happens between now and the draft.   Pickett.    If Rhule goes into the season with Darnold, he’s finished.

Jameson Williams was a transfer from Ohio State where he couldnt see the field. He has 1 year of production at Alabama where he broke out early on as a 1 trick pony deep threat. He didnt start to show he can do other things until late in the season after Metchie got hurt and Williams had to expand his role. Its an incredibly small sample size to base the opinion that he can be a true #1 WR worthy of being WR1 in the draft class.

I know a little about him. Physically, do you think he's less capable of running the full route tree than the other top WR prospects? If so, why? Maybe he has a little less polish than guys like Olave and Wilson (who I really like), but he's way more physically gifted.

That sounds bad but there are a lot of one-trick ponies in the pros and he's got a helluva trick. He's young enough and talented enough to learn another. Maybe even two. At Ohio State he had not one, not two, but three projected first-round picks ahead of him. Had he not been injured, he was projected to go ahead of all three of those guys and they're still projected as first rounders.

It’s amazing what these guys can do, so quickly after an ACL now.

It is.  It's less uniformly amazing what they can do after an achilles.  That needs to be a bigger dent in draft stock.

Right now I would guess Pickett to CAR at #6, Willis to SEA at #9, and Corral gone as well before pick #15.  There are also teams like PIT who will want to trade up if possible.

I learned from the Trey Lance saga of last year to watch what a team does instead of what a team says.  Even when folks were saying Mac Jones I knew SF would draft Lance, based on them running his Pro Day workout, setting him up with Shanahan's QB coach of choice, etc.  I don't get as strong a feel from Howie's actions, but the Eagles actions since January lean towards them taking a long look at these QB prospects.  I always joke Howie will trade up with Joe Douglas to get to #4 ahead of CAR -- but it is a possibility.  I'll be listening very intently when the Jets get on the clock.

Howie could also sit tight at #15 like Belichick did last April.  Mac Jones fell right to them.  If the QBs are off the board at #15, no biggie -- there will be another Kenny Pickett next year.  I do think Pickett should be the only QB target in Round 1, though.  I have no interest in Willis or Corral.

If Howie makes 3 picks in Round 1 and none of them are QBs, then Hurts just has to hold his breath until Ridder and Howell are off the board.  I could see either of them being Round 2 targets.

Andrew Berry looks like such a clown

Would be thrilled, getting a 1st from Detroit (came up for Willis) and still 3 picks in 1st this year.

He's definitely not going to be popular in the GM fraternity for giving that guaranteed money; now all the other teams with QB contracts coming up are stuck -- specifically the Ravens and Cards.

BAL still doesn't have Jackson signed, and Jackson is not coming to the table to negotiate yet.

They also forgot to mention that his contract has a NTC
