Show me as doubtful as to Hamilton. I would prefer Dax Hill or Brisker, especially if we could get him with a trade down.  Hill is a little lighter than I would prefer and he does get caught looking at times but he has CB level coverage skills and good angles.  I like Brisker but His fluidity is a bit of a step lower than Hill.  I certainly wouldn’t spend a top ten pick on any of them.

I like Cine.  He just seems to be around the ball and is a willing and punishing tackler.  He ran a 4.3.

If anyone is interested, Path to the Draft starts Monday at 6pm

I  have been watching some Jordan Addison , big fan , reminds me of Godwin  , but better after the catch ,shiftier. I like him a bunch  , top 5 WO 2023 , right there with Thompson and Johnston

Devin Lloyd snaps

702 in the box

129 los

2 deep

15 slot

1 wide

I was hoping to see more versatility

I like Gardner but that's too rich.  If he or Walker slips to around 10 I'm OK with a move up.  6 is gonna cost more than I'd like to pay.

What's up with PFF hating Matt Araiza?

Hang time. Outkicking protection with line drives.

I don’t see much love for him , but I got London as top WO in the draft

We’re too traumatized by JJAW

I like Gardner but I don't think it'd be worth it to to completely bypass the DL through the first three rounds. If Dean was either a DT or DE I'd like it more. There's good LBs available in Rounds 2 and 3.

I love the blog because I learn things like Kyle Hamilton being a stiff and Jameson Williams being a one-tricky pony.

That sounds bad but there are a lot of one-trick ponies in the pros and he's got a helluva trick. He's young enough and talented enough to learn another. Maybe even two. At Ohio State he had not one, not two, but three projected first-round picks ahead of him. Had he not been injured, he was projected to go ahead of all three of those guys and they're still projected as first rounders.

First, Im not against drafting him. I said that in my initial response to the question that started this conversation. I said Id be excited, and hopeful. But scared of not being able to develop him. We dont have the coaching staff, and he isnt coming in with the polish that DeVante had.

Secondly, his projection went wild during that short time where he had to take over when Metchie got hurt. He wasnt really projected higher than any of those guys while he was just their deep threat most of the season. I think people go a little crazy with the fast Alabama guys the last few years now. In 2020 people began to say Ruggs was clearly the better prospect than Jeudy. And people fooled themselves in to believing Ruggs could do it all and wasnt just a fast guy. This season reminds me of that. Metchie was the solid steady guy, and Williams was just fast. People suddenly talked themselves in to thinking hes WR1 in the entire draft. Its just overreaction. Of course Williams did begin to show he is capable of more, but again, thats a very small sample size after Metchie got hurt.

We signed him again again

I'm not going to defend Aaron Moorehead because it's hard to know for sure what kind of coach he is, but do we struggle to develop WRs or do we just have bad players on the roster? It seems like they're maximizing Watkins pretty well. If you get them real talent, I think they would mold it well. It's hard to get anything substantial out of Reagor.

Based on the Honest NFL tweet every WR except for Smith. I agree Watkins created a ton of opportunities that Hurts missed. I guess Honest NFL would say maybe he ran himself out of the play? He said the guys were clueless on checks and hot reads and such. Except for Smith. And that is why the eagles signed Paschal.

It also doesn't help that there were plays where he gave up on the route because he didn't think the ball was coming to him. Then he subsequently got overthrown because he slowed down.

Wonder if these absurd WR contracts will push teams to take WRs earlier than projected this year. Wouldn't mind seeing guys like London, Burks, Dotson go before we pick.

Here is a brand new Metchie highlight video

Same. The more WRs go early, the more a team like GB/KC will want to trade up too.

I feel like people need to get off the idea of trading down and getting a 2023 1st round pick. The chances of that happening for a mid-1st round player is pretty low.

I think there's some truth to those Honest NFL tweets. Watkins, Reagor, etc are young players. Learning the NFL game takes time and neither Watkins or Reagor were ever natural route runners. I don't see it as a coaching issue as much as a lack of talent/experience/natural polish and skill.

Wow.

Its not just the physical though. His tweet specifically referred to the mental aspect. Things like hot reads are learned in the class room. Its not refined route running technique. Its just knowing where to be and when. Our guys allegedly do not understand that aspect of the game.

I think if we want impact, we need to be looking at those few WRs with the most polish and experience in advanced NFL-like schemes. Someone with high football IQ who wont need much coaching on the intricacies of the offense.

There are also those who point out Smith struggled with the occasional physical DB getting off press. It should be noted that Jameson Williams was frequently in the slot, or bunch formations to allow for a clean release. Hes not adept at beating college press coverage, let alone in the NFL. Not sure you want 2 starting WRs trying to overcome that weakness.
