Best thing for us is Graham retirement after 2022.

And the most likely is he doesn't and you know there's no way they are letting go of him

Yep , I said he didn’t do much  , Steelers fan said he did , Bruce retires and Vegas odds stay the same

Very good athlete in the same scheme after a whole-year is intruiguing. Has legitimate #2CB potential.

I agree. I like him as a 2, and think he will be given every opportunity to win that job. I'm a bigger fan of his than most.

Grain of salt and all that, but the reports after tue draft were that he was the unanimous pick and were thrilled to get him (could be spin following the Donohoe debacle the night before). Now Lurie talked him up indirectly the other day. There seems to be a drum beat building.

It won’t stop the team from drafting a CB high because long-term we need a high-end replacement for Slay.

Following up on my first statement, I too still think they draft a R1 CB (trade up for Sauce, a Stingley fall to the teens, Booth, or Elam) that will compete with Zech for CB2 in TC. Ideally the rookie wins and Zech are your 1/2 or 2/1 after Slay is gone.

Interestingly, Sirianni mentioned the young corners too.  He included Vincent as a CB when doing so, which surprised me a bit.

That was surprising, as I think Vincent has real potential as a S in a 2-high look. But, he's also built like a slot CB, so there's that. Perhaps the plan is a TC battle between him and Scott to back up Maddox.

It should have been obvious that Arians was semi-retired when he came back into coaching with TB.  He intended to retire in 2012 before the Colts called him, and he did retire after the 2017 season in ARI.

He strikes me as lazier at this point than Barry Switzer was in DAL.

I'd be thrilled to trade down to 29/30 and pick up a 2023 1st.

I may be a bigger fan of Zech than most, but I think he's going to be given every opportunity to earn the CB2 job.

That's why I'm thinking we don't draft a CB until at least round 3 or 4 .  DE, DT, S, LB and WR I think are our biggest needs

I don’t typically care about trades involving sixth or seventh round picks, but trading a 6 for Scott, trading a 6 for Vincent and then extending Maddox to what now looks like a big overpay was bizarre.

Also by 2024 season the Eagles will have added a significant portion of 22 draft picks, who will be under contract.

Let's just hope they actually draft some talented players.

I disagree on LB now, I'm a big White fan. This current LB corps is better than we've had for quite a while. I do agree on DE, DT, WR and S. However, S is typically not a R1 pick for them historically and it's a rather deep class starting in R2. I also fear without a trade up, the tier 1 pass rushers (Hutch, Walker, Thibodeaux, Johnson, Karlaftis) may be all out of reach. I definitely want Davis or Wyatt in R1 (depending on if they want a penetrating DT or a huge NT to put over C). I'm also more in love with the value of some of the day 2 prospects at WR then I am with the R1 guys outside of Wilson/Williams. I could see R1 being DT, CB, and a trade down picking up one of the 2nd tier pass rushers like Mafe, Ebikete, etc.

What evidence is there that Maddox was an overpay?

33 minutes ago, ManuManu said:

Why? It’s typically a 9 month recovery, and his injury occurred in September. There’s no real reason to expect that.

Do you really think at his age he will recover enough to be viable?  My guess is they don’t clear him and leave him on PUP to preserve the roster spot activating him only if the injury bug warrants. Might as well treat his salary as dead money.

in the mock sim I have been able to go Jordan Davis, Elam, Daxton Hill, and then am able to double up on 2 excellent DE prospects, Cam Thomas, and Sam Williams.

Its a mystery to me how Sam Williams has generated 0 buzz after running a 4.46 40 at the combine at 6'5'' 261lbs and a 32.5'' vertical. Alongside the athleticism, he has long arms over 33'' as well. Length and athleticism specimen.

The DE double up leaves LB forgotten but Sam Williams in the 4th is great value, and  Im with you. Had been hoping the eagles signed White. Adding him and Reddick along with Edwards is a very solid corps. We simply have no need there.

I thought Maddox was one of their best defensive players last year

Sam Williams is one of my favorite day 2 targets. He's an animal out there.

Same goes with THERAPIST Adam Anderson

Measuring in at 6-foot-4 and 237 pounds, Anderson ran a 40-yard dash in the 4.5-second range, per the report, and recorded a 39-inch vertical leap and a 133-inch broad jump.

Anderson’s broad jump would have tied for best in class among the linebackers at the NFL Combine. His 40 time would have been among the position leaders which included his former UGA teammates Channing Tindall (4.47) and Quay Walker (4.52).

"It was reported to me he had a fabulous workout,” Sadow said, "and everyone is interested pending resolution of the case.”

Anderson was a team captain for his final game at Georgia on Oct. 30, 2021, before being suspended indefinitely by coach Kirby Smart on Nov. 1, when the school said it learned of the allegation filed in a field case on Oct. 29.

Anderson led Georgia in sacks (5) at the time of his suspension and ranked fifth on the team with 32 tackles.

The 2022 NFL Draft is set for April 28-30, with a school-record number of Georgia football players expected to be drafted. The Bulldogs set a school mark for the most players invited to the NFL combine (14) earlier this month, and the 122 NFL coaches and scouts on hand at the team’s Pro Day workout on Wednesday was also a school mark.

I think his deal is somewhere between Rasul Douglas's and Darious Williams. Williams was very good as an outside CB last season with the Rams.  He got $18 million guaranteed and it was for 3 and 30 million.  Maddox received $9 million in guarantees and it was for 3 and $22 million.  Rasul's was similar but his guarantee was a little less than Maddox's.  Both William and Douglas are outside CBs and Maddox is really just a slot CB.  I am not sure that his play warrants that kind of money.

I haven't even noticed him listed on draft sites.  I've assumed he a supplemental draft guy.

Whatever age the Eagles either draft them or sign them as free agents.
