Disagree. Saints stink and it looks like your using a lot of capitol to get a QB.

No Kamara and Thomas wants out bad

Saints play the Falcons and Panthers four times.

Agree Hurts is gone but I want no parts of either of those two QB's

An Ohio State QB or a short Alabama QB. A real pick your poison.

This trade is a crushing blow to those wanting Eagles to draft a QB this year.

This trade is a crushing blow to the Hurts squirts, Eagles accumulating assets in a stronger QB class.

Just now, Sack that QB said:

Think my dream of Ojabo in round 1 is dead now too. Not going to use a pick on a dude with an achilles with only two picks unless they trade down again.

Could still trade back to late 1st and scoop him

Lol this trade is a crushing blow to you and afan

Why? This all but guarantees Hurts is the QB this year.

Davis’ combine numbers were just…bananas.

They were. But he's still a NT who would need to be taught how to pass rush. Wyatt is more of an attacking DT like Cox coming out.

Only other DL I would consider in the 2nd RD if they go another direction is Boye Mafe. While a lot of scouts see him better suited as an attack OLB in a 3-4 scheme, he has the elite athleticism and tools to thrive as an Edge in a 4-3.

He's just below Karlaftis on my DE rankings.

Mafe is a reach at 18, and he isn't making it to 51. If they somehow trade 18 back to KC for 29/30 though...

I like Tyler Van Dyke. He is on my list of QBs to rise next year.

FYP

And all but guarantees he isn't in 2023 unless he takes a gigantic leap forward this year.

Because his career in Philly just began its ending

Bye bye Hurts. Sorry to all huggers.

Stroud yes.  Young is not going to be an NFL QB. He’s wayyy too small.  He’s built like Devanta Smith.  He’s a great college QB but that’s most likely it.

I would still like Howie to keep options open of trading down from 18

Weird trade. Saints must be trying to move up. Too bad the eagles couldn’t keep a 1st and trade Hurts instead @RememberTheKoy

You really don't get Howie.

He's not committed to doing anything, this just keeps him from reaching (3 1sts, but what if there aren't three players he wants and no trade down partners?) while adding optionality to the next two drafts. Howie can wait and see how this season plays out, and have more ammunition in the next two drafts.

He still has Dillard to be moved (Minshew has garnered no real interest, I think Howie would only move him for a day 2 pick).

(2) 1st, 2nd, (2) 3rds, 4th, (3) 5ths, 7th - still has ten picks, and five on the first two days. The 6th would have probably been used to nab a UDFA type in any case.

If he wanted out bad he wouldn't have restructured his contract

Man the Eagles turned #6 and Carson Wentz into Devonta Smith, a 2022 1st round pick, a 2023 1st round pick, and a 2024 2nd round pick.

That's true. Could also see them trading up from 51 if Mafe falls to the 35-40 range. We know Howie loves to trade 3s and 4s lol

Just saw Saints schedule, unless they can somehow get into the playoffs that should be a pretty good pick.

Have to imagine Tampa, Green Bay, San Fran, Dallas, LA Rams all make it to the playoffs. Minnesota/Philly/New Orleans/Arizona competing for those last two 2 spots

Having Winston back will help them. He’s not great but still significantly better than hill and siemian. Had 14 tds and 3 ints before the injury. He had 5 tds against GB so even without that one skewing it, he was 9 tds and 3 ints and a QB rating of 93 with minimal talent at WR. Thomas is back next year. I am guessing they likely add a WR or a tackle with one of those two picks. Who knows with kamara. However their defense is much better when they aren’t hung out to dry by the horrific QB play of hill and siemian. Again winston isn’t great but he was competent last year prior to his injury.

3 biggest question marks are replacing Williams and jenkins at safety, can Allen learn from previous HC and how long kamara will be out. However they also face the crap panthers and crap falcons 4 times.

Oh, we know.

Wouldn't be shocked to see us trade down again if the plan is to draft a QB next year. Those teams all need QBs and will likely have more ammo than us.

Issue with that though is Saints have to be making this play for a QB they really like & don’t want their rivals in the top 10 to grab instead. So it seems very likely Saints will be using both of those 1sts to move into the top 10.

I’d argue besides the dolphins all those teams have significantly worse rosters. Seahawks, Lions and Texans might be picking 1-2-3 and I’m doubting they’d trade out of those spots if young and stroud aren’t as good as advertised this upcoming college season.

Am I first with the new picks?

If you think the Saints are missing the playoffs, that 2023 pick will be #18 at worst. This is an objectively great trade for the Eagles unless whichever QB the Saints draft turns out to be a superstar.
