People don't like him because he's a white DE.  Purely a visual bias.

Enough with this BS.

Karlaftis just turned 21 while most of these other guys are 23-24.  That's a big deal as far as development

One of the worst mocks I’ve seen thus far. How do people like him get paid to do this:

That was some of the dumbest content I've ever read.  I think every #1 need for every single team was incorrect.

Chad Muma is still my LB #1

It's a patently false narrative. The NFL is littered with white DEs that are excelling: The Bosa, the Watts, Crosby, Hendrickson etc.

Not to mention the #1 likely pick is a white DE. So yeah, nobody should have issues with white DEs

Now white CBs or RBs? That's a no for me dawg.

That's what they said about Barnett.

I think it’s skewed by the most recent explosion of WR deals and a lack of new DE contracts (comparatively), but it’s definitely fair to argue at the very least that WR is approaching that status of second-most important position in the NFL’s eyes.

We don’t have a quality QB, WR, or edge and our salary cap is still where it is. Fun.

I think the next great WR contract will be bigger than the next great DE contract.

The contracts of Nick Bosa and Justin Jefferson will be very telling as to which position is now #2.

It’s odd to group the OL together but split up the DL. Would expect tackles to be up there with WR. If not,  then this certainly explains why most of the league suck at football.

Good god, racist because Hurts is a black QB, racist because Karlafitis is a white DE.  Enough of this crap.

We don't like them because there is better players at their position, regardless of color.

I think the biggest difference is no young, high-end DE got a new contract this offseason (unless I’m forgetting someone). TJ Watt got 4-$112M, but that was signed that in September. As crazy as it is, he probably would have gotten more if he hit FA.

He might go in the end of the first round, as a former safety he’s pretty good in coverage and his back peddle is up there with Lloyds.
I still have him 3rd, but scheme wise Chenal may go ahead of him since teams might want to use him as a pass rusher. Muma is a 3 down LB, Chenal isn’t unless he’s blitzing on 3rd and longs.
Good to great off ball LB’ers, especially MLB’s have to process the field like Tom Brady, no one touches Dean in that respect from this and last years draft. Since Quay Walker grew up this year, Dean the leader of Georgias defense was able to move all over including blitzing through the A gaps and both sides of the line.
I still have Lloyd ahead of Dean, a lot of teams will use a safety on a TE, Lloyd will be able to cover all but the best, his coverage skills this year took off, he might be better than Dean at this point plus he’s longer.

This is the argument for power rushers. What's the point of an undersized pass-rusher on neutral downs when there's nothing they can do to affect the QB?

It's also the argument for tall DL, one way to disrupt those quick routes is for DL to get their hands up when they don't win on the first step, and force the QB to pull the ball down.

And it makes pass rushing DTs more valuable than edge rushers, and why pass rushing "LBs" can be more effective than DEs when they have a clear lane to the QB. Especially when you line them up over the "A" gaps.

Yeah, I agree. He must have gotten lazy looking up the pay of each position.

I would take all of these guys, want no part of Karlafitis, and not a Barnett fan.

This is a troll being a troll, the same troll who got banned on the previous board for trashing our Super Bowl winning QB.

Also - OL should be between tackles, guards, and centers because they all get paid much differently.

You are just racist against everyone. Think that’s the pretty obvious conclusion here Mike.

Problem with WRs is they peak early, when you look at the yardage leaders, most are 28 or younger, and the outliers tend to be the big WRs like Adams.

So you should never sign a WR to a 3rd contract.

I don't give a crap what color they are. This kind of thinking reminds me of the 60's and 70's. If they can perform at the position I don't care if they're purple. To suggest otherwise is outright racist.

When was the last time we even had to consider giving a WR a 3rd contract? We should probably worry more about getting them to a 2nd contract at this point.
