My entire point is that they became a run-heavy team because it worked and they stayed that way because it worked.

Again if this was all about Hurts, they would have started Minshew and changed the game plan with him. That Jets game was the PERFECT time to do it. They could have gone pass-heavy, ran Siri's offense that he supposedly had to can because of Hurts and they had a bye week after that. If things worked better with Minshew, they could have just IR'ed Hurts and just run with him.

They did not do any of that and in fact, ran the most times in that Jets game versus any other game of the year. Why?

NOTE : It should be noted that Pass Blocking causes more False starts because you have to move backward, versus Run Blocking which causes more holding calls because you are firing forward. They had a difficult time with false starts, especially at some of the worst times. That is why going to a run-heavy offense helped limit the penalties that were piling up early.

You don't think Lowie had any influence on Hurts playing over Minshew?

Surely, the Howie portion does or he has to admit his faux Russell Wilson pick was a bust.

False.  Most rushing attempts was in the Lions game, along with the most rushing attempts by the running backs.

The team was ran efficiently, and they could stick with the run because the team sustained drives, converted drives into points and did not turn the ball over.

This Jets game was the most efficient offensive performance of the year.

Is Mac Jones left handed?

No, Agholor is the receiver on the right side….

Here we go again, comparing rookies to second year players.

Why are you not comparing Hurts to other players from his draft class that made the playoffs ??

But seeing as you want to compare them

Mac Jones also had a higher QBR than Hurts, you know, the stat that takes running into account.

The other players were drafted to play and start for their teams (Burrow, Herbert, Tua) whereas players like Love and Hurts were not.

That is why it is hard to compare him to those players. I only chose Jones because he was brought up earlier in the discussion and he struggled in his first playoff game as well. Otherwise, I usually would not compare QBs because it makes no sense to do so.

Each team has different players, coaches, schemes, ect. You can't honestly compare one to another.

Don't think this is reporting, but Bo Wulf said he thinks the Eagles have 7 guys they're hoping fall to 15 or to trade up for: Williams, Wilson, Davis, Thibodeaux, Stingley, Hamilton, Gardner.

Advanced coaching technique there... impressive, very strategical.

I am sorry you are correct. They rushed 37 times with running backs in that Lions game versus 36 times in the Jets game.

So you are saying that the team and the coach found a formula that worked then? Interesting.

Norris is pretty plugged in. He supposedly had the most accurate mock of all-time last year (although I’m not sure how that was actually determined).

I am assuming this is a Title IX procedure and I don't know anything about the rules for these proceedings and who gets to select the neutral or whether they just employees of the university.

Are they lawyers?  I think rules for who can qualify as an arbitrator vary from state to state.  Typically there is some sort of training program but not necessarily a formal certification.  I don't think states have adopted formal ethical rules for arbitrators. So the rules that govern their behavior are the rules that govern the profession.  Disclosing a friendship isn't required.   I don't think the friendship with diversity officer is a conflict. Typically a conflict would arise if the judge had materially participated representing the University in the same matter.   If he or she previously was counsel for the university during the time this claim was being pursued that may be a disclosure that he/she should have made.

I am unclear as to how the bias of the diversity officer impacts the evidence of misconduct by your colleague?

Interesting. In my profession, our basic rule was if it looks bad if disclosed, don’t do it.  Here, the "prosecutor” was at one point a co-worker with the "judge” at the same law firm and they are friends. If the University appointed the "judge”, it doesn’t look fair.

That is basically what I am saying. Are there problems with Hurts? yes. He was a project coming out of college and the team knew that it would take a few years to coach him up.

Them going to a run-first offense was not solely because of Hurts. It was a bunch of different reasons why and I do not believe it was ever because they did not believe in his ability to pass the ball.

the bolded i vehemently disagree with, i think Hurts issues, were the main reason we changed the offense, and the playoff game only supports my belief.

The fact we had at least 5 possible Td's with Watkins and Smith over the top, and Hurts was dancing/bailing from clean pockets instead of throwing them the ball, did nothing to suggest otherwise. I did not need the Tampa coach to be caught on video saying "he cant read, keep doing it" to know he has these issues, we have seen them in college, and his time with the Eagles.

1) It limited the defense's time on the field that was ranked second to last in sacks and first overall in completion percentage for opposing QBs.

2) It helped limit the number of penalties that the team was giving up on offense.

3) It played to the strengths of the offense line.

4) Going to a run-heavy game worked, especially against lesser opponents. Even against the Chargers, which they eventually lost to, it keep their offense off the field for large portions of the game.

I really think you guys forget how completely awful the Eagle's defense was last year.

Almost as awful as hurts passing?

Way, way worse.

All I am saying is that going to a running game was because of a lot of other factors, not solely because of Hurts or this preconceived notion that it is because he can't throw.

Were there issues with Hurts passing that led to this? Yes. But it is not all because of his passing, because if it was they would have benched him early and started Flacco, Minshew or even attempted to get another QB under center.

I'm pretty sure that under Lowie, Hurts could have been considerably worse than he was and still not have been replaced.

Evans was bigger (231 lbs to 219), taller, undoubtedly faster (4.53 to "refuses to run"), Evans averaged 20.2 yards per catch in the SEC coming out; London is 12.3 in the PAC-12

Higgins is similar size to London, still faster because he ran at his Pro Day, 19.8 yards per catch at Clemson.

I think both guys were far, far better prospects than London.

Drake reminds me of another Big USC WR, Keyshawn Johnson.

Johnson USC senior year had a 14ypc ave. And in the pros never had higher than 14 ypc ave. He was really good at moving the sticks and making catches across the middle in traffic.

I think London is a lot the same in that he'll be good working the middle on digs slants skinny posts, moving the chains but I don't think he's going to run by anyone like Mike Evans.

He did, based on mock draft contests. This is in the "digital" era, so excludes Joel Buchsbaum and PFW.

I'd be fine with any of those. Not saying much though since that's half the guys I'd expect to potentially go before our pick anyway. Jameson, Wilson, Davis would have to be all small trade ups though. The others I wouldn't be upset with trading up to 10 with the Jets for.

I disagree and the eagles pass defense was pretty abysmal as well

Thanks for confirming undersized run first QB's are not good, especially in the playoffs.

I already told you that Minshew averaged more attempts than Hurts under the new "offense" style NS was FORCED to use

side note, you keep bringing up the lack of attempts in the Jets game for Minshew

But you fail to mention he completed 20 passes. Hurts has 12 games with 20 or less competitions. Seems like your punching Minshew for being efficient and connecting on his passes.

Side-Side- Note.   Eagles only had 1 game with 80% completion or better. Care to guess which game?

@pallidrone, you know how you are losing horribly, bacarty is repeatedly owning you.

Talk about leaping before looking.  The bill to eliminate Disney’s self governance in FL, after examination, is that the principal benefit Disney gets is performing its own services, like building permitting.  If that falls to the local government, the local tax base would have to pay for that service.  If they dissolve Disney’s district, the $1 billion in bond service goes to the local government at a cost of about $1,000 per taxpayer.  That’s just dumb for a retaliatory bill.

Reminds me of the Superfund bill, passed as a result of Love Canal.  The whole process was poorly thought out from "polluter pays” (ask the Gettysburg pizza parlor about that) with retro strict liability to how clean is clean not being addressed to due diligence favoring building on green properties over brownfields. Quickly passed, not well thought out.

Happens in both sides.
