LOL. DILLARD WAS DRAFTED! WE HAD NO OPEN SPOTS!!!

Now you, stop looking stupid. I proved your theory wrong.

But let me guess, You're gonna move the goal posts, say but but but and try to be right. ZZZZZZZZ.

You can put belief in a bad projection that doesn't match the Eagles MO if you want.

I know something you don't-  Zion Johnson will not be a Philadelphia Eagle.

Has RTK ever heard of him? That really determines if we should believe it or not

Josh Norris IS RTK.  Have you ever seen them at the same place at the same time?

Yeaa, thought Outlaw would get a laugh out of it but guess not.

that's fine, and I dont want him either.

But...

1) dont put it past Howie to draft a trench guy

2) dont tell me "the eagles dont do that" when they just did it twice, basically.

2) scenarios weren't the same. I'll tell you a million times.

So I just went through a few PCs and I could not find anything where he said that. However, I did find where he said that 2021 was a rookie year for Hurts, which is probably where a lot of people got that from.

I'm not sure if that's where people got that from but it was an idiotic thing for him to say and it's still an idiotic thing for others to repeat

I'm guessing you'd need to look around when we started running more

None of those Lincoln Riley, OU QBs will ever turn out in the NFL.  They never learn to run a structured offense.  Mac Jones has the best upside of all of them and it probably isn't SB level.

I also think working against mac jones is if AFC teams are all close in terms of talent but the conference has a massive amount of better QB talent. He’s going against josh Allen, herbert, mahomes, watson, Wilson and lamar in that conference. So unless his team is much better around him, the better QB and equally talented team puts him and his team at a disadvantage.

Basically a rookie was being parroted long before Nick said it

Just because there were no "open spots" that doesn't mean it wasn't a position of need. Unless if they thought that the oft-injured JP was going to be starting for the next few years. I don't think Vaitai or Pryor really proved they could be anything more than backups. We also didn't really have any picks invested at the position outside Lane.

Brugler and others have said he projects better to a man heavy scheme because he struggled in space. So I'm not sure why he thinks Booth is a fit in a zone heavy scheme.  I really only think there's 2 very good 1st round prospects, Stingley and Sauce.  McDuffie would be but even if you thought his arm length wasn't an issue he only had 2 INTs in college and 11 PDs.  That's not great production.  I like Elam who was productive and had great testing numbers.

Agreed. I think I read that McDuffie only had like 60 man coverage snaps last year. Combine that with the length, and that's just way too risky for me.

Thumbs down on McDuffie for me.  DT/DE/WR should be our main focus with picks 1 and 2.. I'm on the Jordan Davis at 15 and try and trade down to mid 20's to pick up an additional 2nd rounder

A week till the draft, here is my thoughts.

Zion Johnson at 15 just to piss off @HazletonEagle

Desmond Ridder or Matt Corrall at 18 to piss off the Hurts Squirts.

I think you're only getting a 3rd rounder trading back from 18 to the 25 range

Determining if a player is a reach is somewhat dependent on what players are available at 15. Both Cine and Hill grade as second tier first round selections.

Im not upset. Wont be upset to see him in all of the terrible mocks people do in here. I simply know it isnt going to happen.  Its lazy to just say the eagles like taking OL early. Something a national writer might think but people following the local team should know better.

1) It limited the defense's time on the field that was ranked second to last in sacks and first overall in completion percentage for opposing QBs.

2) It helped limit the number of penalties that the team was giving up on offense.

3) It played to the strengths of the offense line.

4) Going to a run-heavy game worked, especially against lesser opponents. Even against the Chargers, which they eventually lost to, it keep their offense off the field for large portions of the game.

I really think you guys forget how completely awful the Eagle's defense was last year.

I heard the Eagles' D took this team to the playoffs last year.

c- for that pick. they must not be familiar with the player.

All I am saying is that going to a running game was because of a lot of other factors, not solely because of Hurts or this preconceived notion that it is because he can't throw.

Were there issues with Hurts passing that led to this? Yes. But it is not all because of his passing, because if it was they would have benched him early and started Flacco, Minshew or even attempted to get another QB under center.

 Did they not?

This is new from yesterday. A rather unimpressive highlight tape of Skyy Moore

The passing offense in the 2nd half of the season was a remedial, High School offense with Kelce setting the protections and Siri or the OC setting the primary receiver, basically the opposite of what Strong, Ridder, and Pickett did in college with Strong doing both himself.
The passing concepts were all very simple, the pass catchers were schemed open towards Hurts strengths, it’s not so much that he didn’t pass to open receivers, or didn’t see them, they just weren’t supposed to get the ball.
Passing the ball isn’t his biggest issue in terms of playing QB, his biggest problem is he puts his eyes down to watch the rush, and sometimes a perceived rush when he leaves a clean pocket. That split second he puts his eyes down, then looks up, everything has changed, he can’t see past his linemen when his eyes come back, so in comes the circle run trying to find his targeted receiver. This is why he held the ball and had the most time to throw out of any QB in the NFL.

I'm having tilapia for dinner tonight.  Whaddya think of that racist fish man??!

Eagles definitely could take an OL high, it is their thing.

But I hope the wait until day 2 for that. I like the idea of taking Jurgens as a Kelce replacement.
