I'm liking Tyquan Thornton maybe as a round 3 prospect. Looks a little like Smith in terms of play and build, not as polished a player and not as "skinny, but taller and has more pure speed. Could be a nice sleeper to add to the position. I'm looking at this WR room and just see bare bones, no that's not a shot at Smith...

Here's what cosell says about Hamilton at 21:30 then goes on to brisker and Hill

Good stuff from Cosell.

Cosell really likes Hill, he thinks Hamilton is a top 5 prospect.

Seems like Cine is moving up too. I listened to a guy on Birds with friends and he thought Cine was easily head and shoulders the #2 S behind Hamilton. Said it wasn't close. I was surprised as I thought that way of Hill, but would loooooove to add a defensive enforcer like Cine. It's been so sorely lacking. DJ thinks Cine is rising to a back third 1st rounder.

What is the alternative?

This week should be Dillard watch. If anyone is going to trade for him, it’s probably going to be in the next 7 days so they can pick up the 5th year option for another year at a reasonable price. Now that it’s fully guaranteed, it would be too risky for the Eagles to pick it up, lose all leverage next year and have a $12M backup.

Don’t see anyone else with a prominent name getting traded. Reagor isn’t fetching a 2 and I don’t think they trade Minshew. There are no good options at backup QB to replace him with.

He'd be a good option to use in a trade up to 6 if the Panthers were planning on drafting an OT there anyway. They get a proven LT and get more picks in a trade down since they have no day 2 picks. 15, one of the 3rds and Dillard I would do.

These are good reasons to pass on Burks/London IMO

I like Burks, contested catches are there, big strong explosive... I would hope he's deployed at both at the next level. I'd be fine with him at 18ish

Painful to be faced with the likelihood of another season with a QB who can't run an NFL offense

Exactly! Hurts has thrown to Ridley, DeVonta, Jeudy, Waddle, Ruggs, Lamb, OJ Howard, Irv Smith etc and never looked the part. That's 8 different first round pass catchers, not to mention the talent he had along the Oline and in the backfield. Drafting another WR in the 1st round wont help his marginal arm, his lack of anticipation or his propensity to abandoning clean pockets.

Drafting a WR in the first is not about Hurts. It's about having another good weapon for the future

Nope.  I have eyes.  See above.  That is a BAD play and he reverts to his legs rather than his eyes, mind and arm... because he doesn't trust them.

3rd and 14 in a crucial drive at a crucial point of the game and he passes 27 yards for the first down and it's a bad play.  Yeah you have eyes alright.

Yea ok... Problem is you're thinking is still rooted in being on the plantation. Dude I'm a hurts fan but there's no way in hell I can honestly say he will be a franchise QB or after 3-4 years he is throwing us to the playoffs, NFCCG, or SB. He just doesn't have the tools and when proven wrong ill walk all this back, ask for your cashapp and send u a hundo.

What are you replying to?  Where have I said anything at all whatsoever that comes close to saying that Jalen Hurts will be the franchise QB or after 3-4 years he is throwing us into the NFC Championship Game or Super Bowl?  Do you often completely fabricate things someone said in order to argue that?

You of all people have no right asking that

Yup, Cosell actually mentions that in his evaluation but still thinks Hamilton is a top 5 prospect.

Why ? Hill is NFL top slot receiver , Godwin , Kupp , Lamb all top 10

would you draft them ?

Curious what Jefferson's routes run by alignment were?

Yup.  3rd and 14.   And he hit the back step of his drop, went off script immediately and turned it into sandlot football.  Against... the Washingteam.   What happened when he went against a good defense in those situations?

You really need to look beyond the results and at how those results came out.  The result was good.  The process was bad and unsustainable in the NFL.   You scouted the gamebook and the play by play.   I actually watched the play and how the play was made.  The play wasn't made in a traditional NFL way, it was sandlot and improv.  Improv and sandlot skills are important for when the play breaks down.  BUT.. that play didn't break down when he gave up on it.  He didn't go through even ONE read on that play.  He hit the top step of the drop, dropped his eyes immediately to the rush, started to run, and gave up completely on his footwork to enable him to still throw the ball from within the pocket.

Don't worry about the result of the play when it comes to breaking down film... worry about whether or not he's going through progressions - he wasn't, his eyes dropped immediately, trusting his OL - he wasn't, he bailed out as soon as he got to the last step of the drop, stepping up in the pocket - he didn't, he ran up, please note that the running up is done with his shoulders square to the LOS... whereas stepping up is done from the throwing position allowing him to release the ball when someone breaks free.   On that play, it's almost as if he decided pre-snap that he was just going to have to 'make a play' rather than run the play that was called.  I believe the term for that is 'hero ball'.

They weren't exclusively slot WRs in college. Lamb was the closest based on how Oklahoma played...and Lamb has struggled to play outside in the NFL. When Gallup got hurt, Lamb had to play outside and struggled.

Primary slot. At least Jefferson had a good reason to be a slot WR...he had JaMarr Chase outside and Terrace Marshall was too stiff to play inside.

Depends on which year you look at.   If it's the year before he came out, he was almost exclusively outside, and put up good numbers.   His final year was a ton of slot alignment, and he put up insane numbers.

Only in his last year at LSU.

Iike Cine as well, he's a guy that brings purpose behind his pads, been a minute since eagles had a safety like that.

Hill kupp lamb godwin have all shown they can beat guys in the outside as well and also effectively work From the slot

On tape Drake isn't separating down field or on the boundary.

Burks I think is a bit more explosive than Drake.

Drake honestly reminds me so much of Keyshawn.

Keyshawn was most effective running stuff over the middle, slants, skinny posts, drags, out patterns, but ask him to line up on the outside and consistently beat guys was never really his thing.

Though I could see Howie liking London, eagles had a lot of success with alshon winning alot of those back shoulder fades and was what was expected from JJAW, London can be that type of win contested catches guy but why not just draft a guy who can create separation instead of always having to fight for contested catches?

The majority of the best WR's in the NFL were taken after the first round. We spent a top 10 pick on DeVonta & gave Goedert 15M/yr. They're going to be our primary receiving options no matter what. Spending another 1st on a WR who will be the 3rd option for the duration of his rookie contract is a bad use of resources. Quez had over 600 yards as the 3rd option on a run first offense with Jalen Hurts as his QB. Some of you guys believe Sirianni when he says Hurts is the guy for next year but dont believe him when he says Quez can be one of the best WR2's he's been around. Get a legit QB under center and DeVonta & Goedert will be perennial 1000 yard receivers. Quez can be someone who gets you between 700-1000 yards in any given year if he has a good QB. Gainwell is a decent receiver too. We could really use a WR2/3, a TE2 & a RB1. All of those can be found outside of round 1.
