No because he was clocked at a fast speed in game , would have been 11 fastest WO in the NFL last year

that’s with pads during a game

Top end speed is one thing but did it translate to consistently getting actual separation? I don't watch enough myself to give a first hand opinion but from what I've read, he didn't get good separation and it's reasonable to assume he'd get even less in the NFL - despite whatever speed he has. I suppose a counterpoint could be that his route running can be improved - given his age?

Feldman interviews Wide receivers

WR Coach 3 on Purdue's David Bell: I think he's gonna struggle. He can't run
away from anybody. He's heavy-legged. He'll get pressed. People bring up that
Anquan Bolden also didn't run a good 40-time, but he played fast. You saw
explosion out of his break. With Bell, there's no second gear, no suddenness to
him. It's all the same speed.

Whoever WR Coach 3 is will probably be looking for a job in a year or 2. He seems clueless.

Pick#237, wrong guy

What do you guys think about Treylon Burks and Drake London? I'm no expert but it feels like Burks is being undervalued due to a bad 40 time (yet he's burning people on tape) and London is possibly being overvalued? It's a tricky evaluation of whether London should be highly valued for his ability to consistently make contested catches or if this means he'll get even less separation in the NFL and struggle?

Its more than the 40 time with Burks. Its that he showed up to the combine out of shape. Hes extremely raw. And that shows a lack of effort. How you gonna develop if you cant get motivated?

You hit on 50 % and you’re  a success in the NFL

Jags are still a disaster

Out of shape how? Was he just heavy or like... noticeably flabby or what?

If I’m picking 20 and back , I’m trading out of rd 1

@HazletonEagle what RB do you hope/think we grab and when?

I would assume Hall, Walker and Spiller are gone by our 3rd rounders. Do you think Robinson falls to our 4th? Any other guys you'd use a 3rd on? Wait for Haskins in the 4th/5th?

Im looking for a bigger back, and have a bunch.

The one 3rd-4th round guy that doesnt fit that bill, who I would still take is Pierre Strong.

Robinson could be there in the 4th, I think. Like Haskins too. But Robinson will go before him.  Robinson helps on the passing game.

Other guys I like a lot Zamir White, and ZaQuandre White, Isaih Pacheco (also more athlete than power back but really like him).

Even later I like Abram Smith more than I expected. Kevin Harris, Tyler Allgeier, and Brittain Brown, Pierce, and Price. Id have Rachaad White in this group but he will go earlier. I just dont like how much he looks to bounce outside- reminds me of Bryce Brown. Where he is projected,  I'll pass on him.

Not sure. But scouts were disappointed that he showd up out of shape. Thats whats been said.

These have been my favorite backs for months and stays the same heading into draft

Kennedy brooks rb

Abram Smith rb

Pierre strong rb

Rachaad white rb

I don't think Brooks is an NFL caliber athlete.  I don't know if White will ever consistently run inside the tackles. He seems likely to flame out like Bryce Brown did.

Strong is exceptionally nice.  Smith is a good rotational back with return skills.

White will be gone earlier than the rest . I like Brooks impressive runner , he showed up 3 years in a row I think he out performs his draft position.
strong  can do it all  , and a hell of a athlete

Smith is a load and runs hard and likes contact

I think K Williams will be a steal

Not at all a fan of Jurgens, sorry to say. Same problem as Linderbaum. If we want a smallish center we already have Driscoll.

If we want a bigger guy, and I do, we have Dickerson. My solution is to draft Tyler Smith, have Stoutland coach him for a year (Kelce's last), then move Dickerson to center and slide Smith in at LG.

What with the shift in the NFL defenses to a 5-2, or 3-4, or 4i, as you prefer, there is an influx of big NTs. Vea is the prototype, of course, and we have Davis and Jones coming in. Dickerson was a helluva college C and plugging him in at C will negate some of those monsters who are coming in to play NT.

Smith should be there at 83.

Smith is getting a lot of late R1, early R2 love. But yeah I'd much prefer him to Jergens. Perfect fit for Stoutland.

Lose the fifth year option.

That's what you're going with?  Because you haven't seen a safety that tall before?  And then you're going to sprinkle in the "NFL Game is faster" line?  Like no one knows that?  I'll tell you what I tell everyone who says that dumb ish.  These guys aren't finished products when they enter the draft, they are allowed to progress as they become professionals too.  They compete against the level of competition that is in front of them in college and then grow as their level of competition grows.

As far as the "name one FS with that kind of size"....that's why he's a freak.  If you have seen him run the field on that grass at ND, you'll know he's a safety.  A freakish one.  But go ahead with your Brian Urlacher comp.  It's on brand for you.

If Jim Schwartz was still the defensive coordinator,  I don't know if Hamilton would fill his ideal role for a safety.  I don't think Hamilton is a safety that you can move to the LOS to cover man to man on a smaller shiftier slot receiver as he like to do with Jenkins.  I think his speed will only be an issue when he has to make up ground.

Gannon's defense would fit him much better.  Hamilton excels in reading plays and getting into passing lanes in zone coverage.  I can see where the Eagles would look to move him around to put him in spaces where he can read and react more than a match up defender in man to man. I think his size does mean you can put him in as a 3rd safety/LB. He's going to be able to see into the backfield and read plays closer to the LOS. The D-line does do more gap control vs. penetrating which leaves LB's free from blockers.  I can see where that also allows the Eagles to use Hamilton in a sort of hybrid role.  I don't think that means he's moving to LB. He's just a versatile playmaker.

For the record Hurts scored a 21.

Willis helped himself with that score.  I am not sure, however, there is any correlation between a wonderlic score and performance.

It's not like trades can be unilateral.  I am not sure who would be looking to trade up into the end of round 1.

How much different would our Defense look with Davis, Elam, Paschal, Cook & Asamoah added?

Only one trade back.

5 out of 10 Howies - Howie will trade down but instead of taking Elam he will take McDuffie.

I 100% believe teams like/love Jameson Williams.

I have a hard time believing teams are trading UP for Williams in the top 14 in what is considered a deep, but not top-heavy draft. Why trade up for Williams, when you can just stay put and likely get Olave.

Because there's a pretty big difference between the two

Travon Walker shouldn't even be a top 10 pick; he's getting a ton of push just based on being a combine warrior.  Not a whole lot of production on the field.

I heard this morning the Jags are between Hutchinson and an OT at #1.

This gets funnier
