He's not talented enough to go 40th. He's a 3rd/4th rounder at best.

That would be horrendous. I don't care how athletic he is or how ''scheme versatile'' Gannon wants the defense to be. You don't move up in round one for a run stuffing NT at all, let alone when your base defense is a 4-3. I hope like hell all of this Davis stuff is smoke.

I couldn't agree more. If he is there at 15/18 maybe you take him depending on who else is on the board. I don't even think he's a slam dunk there. He's a run stuffing NT. I keep hearing this narrative that he can develop into a good pass rusher and that's total BS. Passing on Johnson and Hamilton for him would be a joke.

Depends who else is still on the board.  Those are 3 of my favorite defensive prospects in the draft, so I'd personally be inclined to let the picks play out until two of them are gone.  That's why there is reporting out there that "The Eagles are a team targeting a trade-up".  Howie is building escape hatches for when he knows he needs to make a move.

I'd be willing to bet he's discussed trade-ups with every GM between 9-14 -- just in case.  He's likely also discussed trade-back options from #18 to every GM between 23-28.
