Johnson is on the board because of his game tape.  His game metrics for a DE aren't great.

Howie was in on WR the entire time: Ridley, Woods, Robinson, Kirk. Finally got a guy.

I don't think they make that contract before the draft with any chance of not going through with it.

I don’t think he’s top 5. However i do think he’s top 15. I think 10-13 range. I think besides this year where he got hurt, i think his numbers look better if not playing in a run first offense the titans run. That said he’s coming to that type of offense this year and I’d argue more mouths to feed with smith, goedert and sanders. That said hurts has to be able to be good enough and consistent enough to get it to him. The thing that really helped tannehill in previous years was brown and obviously henry running. 

The thing if you have a quarterback that’s able to throw and get it to him with accuracy is that this is going to open things up for goedert, Smith and Watkins and potentially even Sanders out of the backfield.

With the immediate extension it must've been in the works already. Probably contingent on Jameson getting taken?

Hurts was going to be the starter this year anyways. I've accepted that months ago. Qb will be addressed next year

With the speed at which the contract was signed you have to wonder what kind of conversations were had before the draft.
