Thats why I am concerned about who and how they are doing the scouting. If we are still doing it the same? We will get the same results. My premise is they're not drafting the same way. Howie has essentially admitted to making aggressively win-now draft picks before 2021. I agree, though, I'll believe in sustained Howie Roseman draft success when I see it.

Howie's most recent approach was to overpay players past their primes for sentimental reasons. The 2nd contracts to the likes of Cox, Ertz, Graham, Johnson and the UFA contract to Brooks were good deals. The problem came with the 3rd contracts. Very few players can live up to that production level at those ages. That's what got Howie in trouble... and void years to boot. Of course his hand was forced a little there by his atrocious drafting during that same time frame.

The contracts are generally a different animal. He thinks their level of play will remain indefinitely, but it wont. Banner wasn't right being so strict on the 30 year old rule... but then Howie has swung way too far in the other direction.

Does it make sense to draft prospects based on physical traits he might value, when it appears he's a head coaching hire waiting to happen? Its not like Gannon is in charge of the future of the defense and the long term direction the team should go. I'm sure they would take his input, but its ultimately Sirianni and the FO that's going to pick the defensive philosophy and types of players they want to follow through with their plan.

Dean (on the left) may be 5'9" or 5'10" Yeah, even if he isn't standing straight up that's a pretty big difference for a LB especially when you need him to cover someone like Gronk/Travis Kelce/Kittle/ and even Goedert type of TE's.

Many of Seumalo's draft profiles if I remember correctly had his best position as a C. I like Seumalo as a C. Wonder about Driscoll as one too. I was talking with @justrelax and suggested that Kenyon Green as an alternative to Linderbaum is a possibility as it would set the Eagles in the middle. Driscoll has the potential to be our new Seumalo, a player who can play all interior positions and RT.

I would really like to see Driscoll at center but we'd be going from an ironman to a guy who can't stay healthy.

January 24, 20223 yr Typical Sean Payton. Without a HOF QB his team is an also-ran, and someone just explained to him the Saints are $70M over the cap for 2022

January 24, 20223 yr Who will be the first team to pull off a QB trade? Last year on January 30 the Rams acquired Jared Goff, which to this point has worked for them.
