Overreaction by organizations to the Dallas defense going from trash in 2020 to being competent in 2021.

IE lucking into Parsons as an elite DE. They had no clue until injuries struck.

I like Seumalo as a C.  Wonder about Driscoll as one too.  I was talking with @justrelax and suggested that Kenyon Green as an alternative to Linderbaum is a possibility as it would set the Eagles in the middle.  Driscoll has the potential to be our new Seumalo, a player who can play all interior positions and RT.

I like Green a lot. Nasty, good mobility, powerful lower body, really really good knee bend. Position versatile. He looks like a legit 325+ to me whereas Linderbaum may not even be 290. Driscoll is a very skilled guy but he lacks junk in the trunk and that's one place you can't build it no matter how many squats you do. Teams seem to be going to the really big NT/4i guys a little more than they used to so a bigger C is probably a good thing. All the same, Green projects as a guard, I think. With Seumalo taking over at C we'd be really well set. I realize I dither over Linderbaum but it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that because a guy reminds you of Kelce, he is Kelce. Well he ain't. There's a reason there's nobody like him.

We have all these CBs on the roster, but what's the plan?  Are they converting a few of them to Ss?  If we don't draft a S this draft I'm going to be shaking my head for a long time.  This is the kind of D you need in the NFL now.  Speed and ball skills.  We are so so lacking in that.

Excellent post.  I suspect that McPhearson is in competition with Gowan for Nelson’s spot.  Scott, if he can stay healthy, is competition with Maddox.  Interesting that the have Ss with some nickel to them.  I strongly suspect they move Vincent to a FS type role.  All four of those have some ball skills.  Vincent and Gowan have speed.  All are potential busts as much as boom.

One reason. And it ain't Dan Quinn. His name rhymes with...uhh, Micah Parsons.

They will absolutely be drafting a R1 or R2 corner. There's 4-6 legit first rounders. Stingley, Booth, Gardner, Elam, McCreary, McDuffie. As long as we don't take the PAC-10 one, I'm happy. I also see a day 2 S such as Pitre.

Was Opeta that bad?  I never noticed him so that's a good thing.  Of course you can upgrade from him but compared to the needs across the board on defense and severe lack of dynamic offensive weapons I'm OK with the o-line.

Can’t anchor.  Probably got by with arm strength at Weber but that doesn’t translate in the NFL.

Can anyone answer why this matters?

Hes a linebacker.  And hes not 5'5"

Can he play linebacker or not?

The QB needs to throw over the LBs to hit intermediate routes in the middle of the field.  In theory a 6'3 LB would break up/INT more passes.

Mike Singletary and Sam Mills both did just fine, but it could be argued they played in an era where run-stuffing was more important than covering a 6'5 TE.

I hope for Dan Quinn's sake he's bringing Kyle Shanahan with him again.

Oh i don’t disagree. I think he’s a benefactor of parsons being great and falling to them and injuries occurring so they could use him properly. And diggs having a bunch of ints this year. I wouldn’t hire Quinn as more than a DC. I don’t think he’s a very good HC candidate.

No. That is earned.

I’d add diggs getting a bunch of picks as well even thought he got burned just as much.

Probably not in the NFL.

Seumalo taking over at center is not us really well set. It’s a bad idea.

Linderbaum isn’t Kelce but he is a very good player who like Kelce is very athletic and a bit undersized. I do like Green too though. Add Faalele and you got my three favorite OL this draft.

retreads with guys in the "ole' boys club".

Not shocked one bit

Nice take.

Andy Reid... 'old boys club' - wins a Super Bowl at his new stop.
Bruce Arians... 'old boys club' - wins a Super Bowl at his new stop.

Hmm... last two Super Bowl winners were coached by 'retreads'.  Maybe retreads should get a second shot.

Can he cover the likes of Kelce/Pitts/Kittle/Waller/Goedert types of TEs? That's my biggest concern with drafting him in the 1st. If he's there at #51 I would definitely take him, but I don't know if he is worth a 1st for the Eagles.

I don't see a big deal with his height. I would be more worried if shied away from physicality, but be doesn't

Why?

Mahomes brother and wife are insufferable. Go Bengals

The Cowboys' D succeeded this year on an unsustainable turnover rate. Good luck to whoever hires Dan Quinn.

Because reasons. Nevermind that he was originally drafted to be the heir apparent.

Doug, the coach out of nowhere got it year two. Let’s hope for Siri going with that trend! 😁

Seumalo, Dickerson and draft are all options.

One mock I saw had the Eagles drafting Kenyon Green (I think) a guard and moving Dickerson to Center. I thought to my self "this would be popular at EMB"

Seumalo is average at his best (guard).

He had multiple opportunities at center and looked absolutely terrible every time.

Doug Pederson agrees.
