I agree but his choices 1-14 do make logical sense.

I'd be good with it, but I have serious doubts that we are even able to take Hamilton (let alone actually take him) and would be very surprised if we grabbed a WR for a third straight year.

No chance.  I’d be elated with Hamilton.  Not so much with the other two.   Both would be a reach.

So you’re saying we’re getting Burks and Johnson…

My buddy became a realtor outside of Sacramento when he got out of the military, sold my condo when I left the area.  He's flooded with people leaving SF for the hills because of the remote working.  He's sitting on a couple who's ready to drop 1.5m in cash when they find their dream home out in Auburn CA.

Interesting way to sell. My have some of my fatter guys try that

We need a WR with some fight in him to pick up the banner for Reagor who posts to Twitter to rile up the fanbase.

Easy now, twitter is one of the only talents he has

It's everywhere...I'm out here in Colorado Springs and the homeless population out here is insane.

In Philadelphia we typically have about 1500 chronically homeless people, mostly men with mental issues - who in my opinion belong in institutions, but you know - one flew over the cuckoos nest, Reagan, etc. so it’s either the street by their choice or jail. Homeless moms/kids are prioritized, so they can get temporary housing quickly. But in the last decade the opioid problem has exploded the problem, particularly in the cities where addicts are sent/go because historically we had some services in place. Pre-pandemic this was THE health challenge front and center, and I remember reading articles about how addicts in Puerto Rico were being given airlines tickets to NYC and Philadelphia. I assume once everybody starts going outside again, the drumbeat for some action to tamp down homelessness will pickup again here.

I’ve read that there is as many as 45,000 homeless in LA, which strikes as something different - like are these also people who just can’t find a place to live, but should be functional otherwise.

Anybody know much about Illinois safety Kerby Joseph? I haven’t watched him, but I’ve read a lot of good things. Sounds like a third-round safety.

Maybe that's why they are homeless.

Nt a fan of Howell, but I like the rest.   Linderbaum in Round 2 seems unlikely though.   But if he's there... snatch him up.

Probably haven't heard much because most folks aren't very high on him.

https://www.nfl.com/news/scouting-sam-howell-north-carolina-qb-similar-to-baker-mayfield

Here's Daniel Jeremiah's report on him...

Here's what stands out in that review...

He reminds me of: Baker Mayfield. I wrote Mayfield's name down in my notes after watching about 15 plays by Howell. They have the same build, similar arm strength (Howell's is slightly stronger) and athletic ability (again, slight edge to Howell in this department). They both are ultra-competitive when they carry the football, and they bring juice/energy to their teams. Howell is a better deep-ball thrower, while Mayfield was a better decision-maker and didn't force as many balls into coverage back when he was a prospect.

(emphasis mine)

Leftwich to the jags , good for him , 2 3rd rd picks to Bucs

I think this will add to brady retiring

Yes, good for him but, I'm not sure he's going to make a good h.c.. We'll see though

I agree sometimes coaches are doomed from the beginning  , he is pretty sharp though , if he is smart Fangio is his first hire , jags have picks and cap room , I’m rooting for him

They’re slight reaches. Both are legit first rounders. Imagine in 2019 if we’d passed up Dillard for Montez Sweat or Deebo Samuel, or DK Metcalf over JJAW. We need to realize our boards rarely look anything like that in teams war rooms. Burks is a freak of nature who IMO would be the perfect complement to Smith. And Johnson, who is the bigger reach of the two, is still projected by most in the 20’s.

Agreed. I truly think Howie is locked in on Pickett.

If they go QB early in no order Strong, Pickett, Willis, Corral.  Later in draft Zappe

Didn't mean to take a 2nd centre, accidentally took him, but whatever.

Sounds like another QB I know of.

Howell is an interesting evaluation because at this time last year he was being talked about as a possible #1 overall pick.  He loses Dyami Brown, Dazz Newsome, Michael Carter and Javonte Williams to the NFL, his numbers go down in his junior year (surprise, surprise) and he’s now being graded as a 2nd round pick.

I don’t like at all how much he ran this season 180+ times, but the first two years it was only half that much.  Give me those first two years please.  He’s got a really good arm, not great height at about 6’1 — but strong arm and mobile and can throw from the pocket (unlike the guy we have now).

Physically he is comparable to Baker Mayfield, but Mayfield was/is also an immature knob.  Mayfield hasn’t lived up to expectations but it’s not because he lacks the physical tools.  I wouldn’t be shocked if the Eagles took Howell and I think his potential is far beyond what Hurts can be.  I also think there will be another Sam Howell in just about every draft, though, so it isn’t like I’d move up to draft him.
