Keep telling yourself that, there is nothing about what they have done, said, interviewed that tells you that they are not looking for an upgrade. Read my signature, read it again, they are not going to be happy with the current QB situation, and they have the ammo to do something about it.

That they do... if only there were appropriate targets.

Well, that's just great.  No one really wanted him.   But, here we are... with no realistic option to move on from him currently.

Any chance Doug now as HC at Jacksonville will trade for Hurts?

What a shame. Far too young.

Rest in peace, friend.

I'm sold on Pierce after his practices. I already liked him but he sealed the deal in my mind. He's on my short list of RB options.

As opposed to having Lawrence?  Last year's #1 overall pick?   Extremely doubtful.

You think he will try and choke out Baalke if he tries to draft a backup QB in the second round ??

Awful news about @Dawkins 20

Just saw on his profile page that he was posting/reacting on Sunday, the day before he passed. Hard to contemplate and desperately sad.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, 37 is no age at all.

Apologies if someone has already said this: If Howie is paying such close attention to Willis, doesn't that indicate that he realizes Hurts isn't good enough?

It means nothing. They will take a good look at all of the top draft prospects.

Drafting a backup is a smart move. Even **** backups are way overpayed.

If it has to be as early as the second is debatable though, in case of Hurts I think it was worth it but usualy I‘d look at round 3-5 for a backup.

They really do due diligence on absolutely everybody, that‘s one thing nobody can fault them for.

Drawn conclusions though is a different matter..

Nope.  No debate to be had.  Drafting a backup in Round 2 is ridiculous.  In what respect has Hurts been worth it?   A 2nd round pick that won't get a second contract is a bad pick.

People are dumb and don't understand measurements. He's 6003. People think that means 6'3" when its 6'0 3/8ths

And we wonder why some people prefer metric.

Unless its an OT that falls to them in the first round that they didn't expect.  Then they draft him and hope it works out.

No way. @Dawkins 20 was a good dude. Had some good convos with him back on the old board and in some of the other sports threads on here like the Phillies thread. RIP

Met him at a tailgate in 2009 or 2010. That sucks.

Too bad that clip didn't include a shot of Belichick's face. He was kinda like "What the F just happened?!?"

I don't know that they are doing anything other than what they consider due diligence on a player and his potential draft position. I do think there's a lot of smoke.

It's so he can hang out with his son Julian.

For folks (including me) concerned about Russell Wilson's broken finger, I guess he put on a show a the Pro Bowl QB accuracy competition

Doesn't he always?

I looked at it. He did extremely well. Hurts would never come close.

I've just watched the whole of SB52 for the first time since the day.  For all the criticism of Schwartz, Patricia's D gave up a 7 minute drive in the 4th quarter - that killed the Pats.  They had no answer for it.

Two things are particularly clear.  That Eagles team were big and physical - something the team hasn't really been since.  Cox looks a lot leaner then than he is now.  That team was absolutely lightning in a bottle the whole year.

What a game. What a team. What a win.

I've also made the statement before that Wilson being 33 and known for being someone who relies on mobility is a concern.  His career run/pass attempt ratio is 836/4,735 or 17.7%  This past season, however, he was 43 runs against 400 pass attempts or 10.8%.  Probably a clear sign his game going forward will be much more from the pocket.

He was 64.8% completions over the course of the season despite those 2 games coming off injury where he was just 34/66.  Without those two games of rust he was 67.4%
