He did a better job than McDermott and Todd Bowles in their first years and they’re two of the league’s best. That being said, I hate his defensive philosophy and wish he was gone. McDermott's defense was much better than Gannon's. Bowles' defense was actually Juan Castillo's and was pretty comparable to Gannon's.

February 7, 20223 yr Still this same old same old? Caught in a loop. Nothing new said here. Good grief and good night.

February 7, 20223 yr Saints gonna be really bad next season and likely will have Bryce Young or Stroud fall into their laps.

McDermott’s defense was garbage. Pathetic considering he learned directly from JJ. It left me assuming he slept through most of the hard work. 27 minutes ago, Sack that QB said: Saints gonna be really bad next season and likely will have Bryce Young or Stroud fall into their laps. My brother had the unpleasant experience of meeting him and his brother on a golf course. They were both knobs, and his bodyguard kept the situation from escalating. His act has worn thin at every NHL stop he’s had. Unbelievably after breaking COVID protocols that had him under formal investigation by the league, he’s surfaced with another team again. Some of these guys never smarten up.

While there were absolutely designed runs for Hurts at both Alabama and Oklahoma, to call either of those offenses "run first” gives a new definition to "run first” for me. Neither RO or RPO are run first offenses for the QB. His passing to running rate in college was almost 2 to 1. Factor in that a decent amount of his runs were one read and bail runs, those runs came on plays that were designed as pass first. In the offenses I mention from when I was young, that pass to run rate for the QB would be close to 1 to 5, at least. You would see games with the number of passes in the single digits. Even the most prolific RO or RPO is rarely a 1 to 1 pass to run rate for the QB. Now designed runs including the designed QB runs favored the run at Alabama and Oklahoma. But that is the case regardless of the QB. Who wouldn’t run the ball with that stable of running backs? But that’s not a "run first” for the QB. This is gonna require an addition to the Blogtionary...when Hurts first read isn't there his instinct is to run...aka run first.

Questionable. All have worse flaws. And we saw how last year's group struggled as rookies. Don't waste a 1st rd pick on someone's backup QB three years from now. We wasted a 2nd round pick on a guy who won't be in the NFL 3 years from now. Jones was a great pick and great prospect, who's only flaws were 1 year of starting (at a near elite level in college) and an average arm.

Plus he did get fired and replaced by Trestman, who was then replaced by John Fox, that’s a bad look for the Bears, and Lovie.
