I think a more realistic scenario for the D between FA, Day 1 and 2:

Sign Marcus Williams

15- Ojabo or Johnson

16- Booth or Elam

19- trade down into the high 20's to 32 for a 2023 1st rounder+ and grab Brisker, Hill or Cine. If a Green or Linderbaum fell, I'd go in that direction instead of S.

51- Grab Harris, Muma, or Smith if grabbed a 1st round S. Pitre if we did not.

This is more realistic.  I am fully aware how mine was a totally hopeful Hail Mary.

Agree if OG Green falls we should draft him.  It all comes down to what Kelce decides to do.  Though it has been offered by some that we already have his replacement on the roster in one of Seumalo, Driscoll, and Dickerson.  The first 2 have been too injury prone of late and are therefore not reliable enough.  The last would serve the OL best as a unit staying next to Mailata and growing together into a dominant partnership for years to come.  So Linderbaum could be in play.

This is seeming to be a deep draft for multiple positions and the Eagles have a chance to help themselves so long as they don't F it up.  In the 2nd and 3rd rounds we could grab S, LB, WR, OL, CB, and DL that could turn into a productive player.

I like Green a lot and believe he would win the battle to start at RG. For C, I think we just take one on day 3. I'm a big fan of Lindstrom out of BC. Our Oline could potentially be:

T- Mailata, Johnson, Driscoll, Dillard (trade bait)

G- Dickerson, Seumalo, Green (rookie), Herbig, Awosika (T/G)

C- Kelce, Lindstrom (rookie)

After the Kelce retirement, you start Mailata/Dickerson/Lindstrom/Green/Lane with Dillard, Driscoll, Herbig, Seumalo, Awosika in reserve. Still a really nice unit.

Literally love everything here, except Zappe and waiting so long for an EDGE rusher. I'm not a fan. At QB for me, it's trade for Watson, draft Ridder or Strong and roll the dice, or hold out for 2023. I'd much rather see a WR2 with some size there such as Pickens, Ross, Pierce, Watson, etc. I also wouldn't double dip so early on 2 LBs. One of them needs to be a DE.

Watcha y'all think about terrell Edmunds from Pitt Steelers?

He's a FA after Pitt declined to exercise his 5th year.

Former 1st rounder, only 25?

Hamilton is THE guy in this draft.  I'm not suggesting we trade up for him.  But he'll be the star out of this draft.

Hypothetical question for you.  Say Hamilton fell to #10 where the NYJ have their second pick of the 1st Round, would you do this trade up to get him?:

To the NYJ:  our #15, our #51 (2nd Round)

To the Eagles:  NYJ # 10, NYJ #102 (4th Round), and NYJ #131 (5th Round)

The NYJ 4th/5th Round picks #s would be further down the draft after including the comp picks.  I went by the draft value chart to ballpark it, but they'd probably want a little more value to fall back 5 spots.  Realistically, hard to see them passing on Hamilton.

You can argue that it was silly to do in 2021, stick with it in 2022 lol.

Hey if they can find a better option I'm all for it. Just not thrilled with this draft class and not sure I see Rodgers/Wilson etc coming here.

I think he's the best defensive player in the draft so I'd have zero issues with trading up to get him and Howie in the past has shown willingness to trade up in 1st to get a guy they have targeted.

Question is, would Howie actually target a safety in the 1st, eagles haven't drafted a safety in the first round longer than they haven't drafted a LB in the first so who knows🤷‍♂️

Have not heard a single good thing about him since the moment he was drafted. Other than that, he’s good.

ESP horrible takes spread across all sports

Yeah I wanted edge earlier, but the options left at 83 weren't great, and I thought Muma was good value there. It seemed like there was lots of good o-line options later too, which would maybe make me change the Green pick to an edge instead.

Great album. Saw them twice. Drugs killed Gram Parsons, alas. Rick Roberts replaced him, had a beautiful clear high tenor. "Hey, Colorado" is one of my all-time favorites.

Always loved how Phil Kaufman stole Gram’s body and burned it at Joshua Tree.  Stuff of legend.

Chris Hillman was a heck of a songwriter. An original Byrds member and joined Parsons in the Flying Burrito Brothers.

Stout’s right hand man stays.

And therein lies the rub.  Lowie should start valuing other positions more than they have in the past.  The game has changed.  Having a rangy S with ball skills is much more important to the D scheme today than it ever has been before.  Having LBs that go sideline to sideline and can cover TEs/RBs is more important than it's been before.  The way the Os and passing game have evolved with the help of the rules that now favour receivers more than ever, you need the right personnel on the D side.  Can't just be about the trenches now.  Sure, having a strong OL and DL is still important and you still need quality there, but the other positions can't be ignored like this FO has done for a while now.  If they keep with their status quo then they are not evolving with the game and the times.

Any team declining anyone's 5th year option is a ginormous red flag.

This. He's a JAG. Although, a JAG actually would improve our LBs.

Yup, and Hamilton can play all over and do multiple things, he's solid against the run solid in zone in man covering the slot, good blitzer, great range and length.

Guys with his size and length that move like he does don't come around often

Lindstrom looked bad at the shrine game.  Low and off target snaps and bad anchor.  Thought the SMU kid, Howerton, showed him up at C.

I'm not gonna kill guys over one game. Maybe moreso than any other position pairing, the C/QB dynamic is symbiotic. Watch some BC tape, the kid has talent...and thankfully we have the best OL coach in the NFL, and an amazing mentor in Kelce for him to sit behind. But, he's an example. Insert any day 3 center in that spot on my hypothetical line and the overall gist rings true.

This is the Howie thing to do...

Hamilton falls to 15...

At 15 Howie selects -  Ojabo

At 16 Howie selects - Kenyon Green

At 18 Hamilton goes to the Saints

Then at 19 we are standing there with our D in our hand watching Howie pick  someone we dont care about because we just watched Hamilton go somewhere else while we had 2 shots to get him.

Realistically, I think they need to go after Marcus Williams hard, and pick up a guy on day 2 ala Cine, Pitre, Joseph, etc.

If Kyle Hamilton is there at 15, they better not need any more than 5 seconds to get their card in. He is a generational S prospect.

I love Williams, but he will get paid. Jessie Bates will be paid too. Is this FO prepared to pay him top safety money? Do we really want to? So many needs and while we have decent money this free agency period, it's not an excessive amount.

I'm not convinced they pay one of those two safeties  top money... Same with LB. Though I could see an OLB like Reddick or Landry or D-line since that's where they seem to allocate their dollars. Za'Darius Smith could be a good get line on the line and provide some versatility.

Moorehead coached up Christian Kirk in college too, maybe he could be a sleeper. Only 25, would be a major upgrade in the slot and on specials... Unsure on what his contract would be though. He didn't come up big when Hopkins went down. Not sure if that was his fault or what...

Could be a quantity thing, NFL rosters are at least double the size of the other sports, and 5 times the size of basketball rosters.

I think most studies have shown that NFL players get arrested at rates much lower than the general public.  I know there was one study of sports and acts of violence for youth and young adults which showed football players were more likely to get into fights.   I don't know whether NFL players are arrested more frequently than other sports.  Arrests aren't always reported.  I think the perception is driven by the reports.

Some of those guys barely have money for food, they aren't big timing it anywhere.  Minimum salary in the NFL is $660,000.

Meanwhile...
Minor league players saw weekly minimum salary increases at each level this year. Players at Class A saw a bump from $290 to $500; Double-A players jumped from $350 to $600; and Triple-A players had salaries increase from $502 to $700.

https://www.si.com/mlb/2021/10/17/mlb-pay-for-minor-league-players-housing-2022-season#:~:text=Minor league players saw weekly,increase from %24502 to %24700.

And...
Average (not minimum) minor league hockey salary is about $52,000.   That's not even 10% of the minimum in the NFL.
https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/minor-league-hockey-player-salary-SRCH_KO0,26.htm#:~:text=The national average salary for,is %2452%2C522 in United States.

I'd say that's dramatically different.   If you are earning $700/wk, you don't have the money or the time to do anything too stupid, you likely have a second job somewhere to help pay the bills.   Granted, these are the minimums, but it goes to show the vast difference in the salaries you are discussing.

People make stupid choices all of the time regardless of income.  I think that probably not every minor league player that gets arrested makes the news.

I remember two names from the 2017 draft that almost everyone thought would be gone well before our pick at #14 -- Jonathan Allen and Malik Hooker.  Allen was a top 3-4 prospect on most pre-draft mocks, but something came out right before the draft about his shoulder and he slid to #17 to the Comrades.  In the last 4 years he's played all but one game for them -- and had 9 sacks as a DT in 2021.  Of course, the Eagles passed on him and took Barnett.

You just never know how the board will fall on draft night.  You'd think Hamilton is a lock for the top 6-7 but you just can't be sure.

I'm not a basketball aficionado but it seems destined that all of Philadelphia is going to absolutely hate James Harden in like less than a year or two. He's got strong Demarco Murray vibes.
