So now that the Harden deal is done, and the Super Bowl is over, when does Howie make his trade and put the Eagles back in the headlines ??????

I was going to mention specifically contributed to the Eagles and not just in general. You can give them credit for drafting poyer but at the same time they didn’t think enough of him to want to keep him at all cost. So it tells me they didn’t believe he was ever gonna be that type of player after watching him up close. so that they thought he was expendable. Which then comes back to you and your self scouting wasn’t very good because if you would’ve known he was gonna be an all pro then why the hell would you ever release him

I just looked up Poyer's career path and he was a backup/special teams for the first 4 years of his career.  One here and three years in Cleveland.  Really late bloomer and seems like McDermott/his system is what brought out the best of him in Buffalo.  (3rd team).

He also fully switched to playing safety when he went to Buffalo. The eagles never played him at safety. And at the end of his time in Cleveland they began to transition him. He went full transition to safety in Buffalo which was his best position. And McDermott got the most out of him. He was drafted to be a corner here.

Do not besmirch the name of the one true Punt God, Matt Araiza.

I'm glad someone found his true talent.  Two teams'(Eagles & Browns) coaches, scouts, front offices, etc) let him go...which is what? 100+ professionals?  So I'm not sure if I can blame the Eagles on that one.  I'm leaning on giving credit to the guys that found his talent, worked it, etc. (McDermott, etc).

Lol. No it tells you didn’t draft well defensively and didnt have great coaching in terms of developing talent. Unfortunately you seem to think it only could be one because you refuse to believe the Eagles and howie could just be underwhelming drafting defensive players since 2013.

let’s name the defensive players who have gotten better after leaving the Eagles shall we. Jordan Poyer who was drafted to be a cornerback by howie (miss on evaluation on correct position at the nfl level), scouts and along with the coaching staff wanted him to play cornerback. The Buffalo Bills decided he’s not a corner. we’re gonna move in the safety. You don’t get credit for the Buffalo Bills being smarter and changing his position because you drafted him to be a corner (howie/scouts) and kept trying him at corner (Billy Davis). The only other defensive player that’s left to go on and be better elsewhere is Rasul Douglas. So you have one out of 9 drafts. and don’t give me Jalen mills or Sidney Jones because they’re the same player they’ve always been whether here or there. Jordan hicks has stayed healthy but hasn’t been nearly what he was his first two years in the league in Arizona (the last 3 years his grades by pff 61, 50.4 and 64.4).

Eagles have taken 2 defensive players in total in rounds 1 and 2 over the past 6 years. That isn’t nearly enough. The D needs an injection of young talent in the worst way.

That was a laser pass from Stafford...even Mahomes took note.  👀

I have less problem with the Eagles letting them go if they didn’t think he was good enough at corner. Cause he wasn’t and was never excelled at corner. My bigger issue is somehow we have some fans thinking well howie/eagles drafted Jordan Poyer so we knew all along when they scouted him he’d be an pro bowl safety. The Eagles drafted him to be a cornerback due to howie/scouting/coaches all thinking corner and not envisioning him as a safety at all. I give credit to the Buffalo Bills scouting department, general manager, Sean McDermott and coaching for his transition to safety. The Eagles draft him at corner and released him a few months later cause he struggled at corner which what howie/scouts/coaches wanted him to be.

Well, that was a boring Super Bowl.  Proved that the game is won in the trenches. Best play of the game may have been the stunt with Von. Miller and Donald. Man do our DTs need better than Barnett DEs and better LBs.  Interesting that the key defense for both teams matched Gannon’s approach.  Maybe he is better than given credit for.  Hopefully Howie gives a lot of the draft to him plus better free agents.

Fitting that a possession receiver who doesn’t have elite speed but runs great routes, has great hands and great body control won the game on offense and MVP.  Hope @eagle45 was watching that.  Speed at WR can be so overrated.

How many watched the speed of pulling the trigger of Burrows and thought "Hurts can’t do that ".

Glad I stuck around for the women’s monobob.  Man, I would love to take a ride in those sleds. USA USA :usa:  Of course, then we got PBS ballroom dancing on ice and I had to check out.

One WR without speed being great doesn’t make it overrated.

I wear eye black under my tinted visor, SO REALLY $W@GGED OUT

I thought we had a great punter but his leg fell off in the 2nd half of the schedule

Yeahhh…except it’s not just 1. Rice, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Irvin…the list goes on.

Matt Araiza will make Ray Guy look like just a guy.

Because I think he's declining.  I don't think his style of play translates as he ages.  I don't like the guy, comes off as phony as F.  And I don't want to trade our draft capital for a 33 year old who is led around by his celebrity wife.

I think he's past his declining stage...and possibly falling off the cliff.

Where do you think he gets drafted? 3rd round? That’s where Angerer went (I think) and it was thought to be a reach.

I think the NFL wanted to push social media away from the Eagles website and more into existing social media platforms and apps.  Fran Duffy still puts out a fair amount of videos.  The team is active publishing stuff on Twitter and Instagram.  They basically killed traffic to the site.

I go to PE for roster and transaction info occasionally.  Only "news” I pay attention to is Fran’s film work and if Stout is posted.  Dave almost makes training camp live unwatchable.  I access that and press conferences on Twitter.

Based off the article I read he was a longshot to make the team as a quarterback. And his release said quarterback Jordan Poyer. So the Eagles didn’t even move him to safety. The Buffalo Bills moved him to safety where he has flourished.

IIRC he's been a S since coming into the league.  I'm certain he was drafted as a S.

I agree here, I think it makes the list look even worse because now Jordan Hicks is the best defensive player they have drafted since 2013. Sweat does have the opportunity to take that with another solid year and if he can make the Pro Bowl again. I liked Hicks, he just couldn't stay healthy.

I think I remember him having some legal issues that caused him to drop in the draft, but the Eagles played him at CB from what I recall. We had the legendary Nate Allen and Earl Wolff playing safety.

Maybe I'm thinking of somebody else...or the fact that Allen and Wolff were hurt about 80% of the time.

Araiza in the 5th round
