Have been watching more of Karlaftis, because I sincerely think he's exactly who Howie would target.

Still think length will be an issue. Seems to bull rush with little wiggle far too often. Many of his "big plays" are the QB stupidly stepping into the sack/not throwing the ball on time. I will give him credit, he seems to do pretty well against the run and doesn't get fooled too often on RPOs.

I maintain what I've said. At best I think he's a decent end, but nothing special. If he ends up here, I hope he'll prove me wrong.

Karlaftis seems like more of an effort and motor guy than an explosive or athletic freak.  I don’t see a lot of bend getting around the edge; more just bull rushing against future waiters and ditch diggers.  The level of competition he’s succeeding against would make me wary.

Sounds like Barnett 2.0.  And that's my fear.

Lets go Howie!

This is the exactly how I feel. If he were doing this in the SEC, I'd be more willing to gamble. The fact that he sometimes seems overwhelmed against lesser talent concerns me. His length is going to be an issue. His pad level is going to be an issue. Most QBs aren't going to be as stupid with the ball in their hands.

Factory needs a new cog.

The more I think about it the more I think that Tampa and Wentz would be the best fit for each other.  Will still be a somewhat loaded roster.  Arians likes to push the ball down the field and Wentz wants to throw it down the field.

They would just bring Winston back , played in and knows the system , Winston  and Wentz are 2 of a kind

Derek Barnett 2.0. Maybe less penalties and more sacks lol.

As JR pointed out earlier, with Gannon running more 4i schemes then who would be the better 1st Round pick:  Karlaftis, Ojabo, or Johnson?

In the pic JR posted it has Hargrave as the NT over C with Sweat and Cox as the DEs with their hands in the dirt.  Barnett was out wider over the TEs in an upright stance and Avery was on the opposite side like a pass rushing OLB.  I see Karlaftis more as the DE with his hand in the dirt, Johnson in Barnett's position, and Ojabo could do either Barnett's or Avery's position in that scheme.  I think for this draft the need is more for a player like Ojabo or Johnson than Karlaftis.

That combo will produce more pro bowls then our previous 7 or 8 years of drafting

If Kelce comes back, I don't think Linderbaum starts until Kelce retires.  You can argue about his ability but his value to the team isn't good. I think late first is fine for Karlaftis but I don't know whether he's a sure thing prospect.  He's been a productive college player.  I would like to see how he tests.  My sense is players like Trayvon Walker or Ojabo may test better and be better prospects.  I would be fine with them getting Lloyd in the first.

I went to the Colts equivalent of BGN - stampede blue - and clicked around there a bit. It seems that none of the local media are backing the "Wentz is done here" story. I would not be in the least surprised if he is given an ultimatum that he needs to play better/do fewer stupid things this coming season if he wishes to be there a 3rd season. As I recall cutting him after next season is less painful than it would be this coming season.

The local Athletic reporters for the Colts have had a couple of why Wentz goes stories.

Hes underwhelming in a draft full of pass rushing talent. But hes bigger and more athletic than Barnett. So, still not as bad of a prospect as Barnett was.

why would Winston want to go back? Wentz would probably cost them less in guaranteed money.  He's also been more successful.

Current value.  I'm never a fan of making picks based on the roster for that year, but rather for the next 4.  Center is a need for this team until we see Driscoll or Seumalo prove they can stay healthy.  Herbig is just a depth guy to me, never a solution.

Bingo

Meh.  You can argue the value of the position, but this team needs so much, there's almost no position that wouldn't fit a need.

But have no fear, I cant see Howie using a first on a LB.  And even a center... it seems far fetched, he's always so obsessed with "value".  It seems highly unlikely.

I would like to see how he tests in the 40, 3 cone and broad jump.  I don't know if he's underwhelming but he maybe doesn't have the upside that some of the other prospects may have.

My hope is a trade down into the upper 2nd to grab an extra 2023 1st but we'll see. Hopefully someone falls in love with an OT in that middle range.

And hope a second team feels left out and wants Dillard.

Landon Dickerson, Seumalo and Herbig all have been competent starters.  Seumalo and Dickerson have played well.  They can all play center. I would much rather they draft Green or Zion Johnson than Linderbaum.  The team has done well developing later round picks.  Linderbaum is a luxury and not needed if Kelce comes back.   Linderbaum can't play guard.  He has one role and limited versatility in terms of scheme at his size.

Wentz is a turnover machine , Bruce wouldn’t take that on .

he is just not a good QB

Curious if they'll look to trade him or use him as a backup. I think making him Lane's replacement has been killed because of what Howie did to Lane's contract

I like Ojabo, a lot. Maybe more than most. He's more of a speed rusher, but has the frame and physical traits to be a freak IMO. On top of that, he loves to slap at the ball when making a tackle/sacking the QB, but not in a way that prevents him from making tackles. He would be much better standing up and rushing than Karlaftis, IMO.
