Jackpot!  Found an old video (you can tell) of the second level of the Linc right before kickoff of the week 17 Eagles-Cowboys 44-6 game.  Everyone still going absolutely nuts at all the impossible things that happened for the game to mean something.

Damn, no love from anyone for that video I posted.  Jeez, it's time capsule into a moment of pure hype.  Never been to a sporting event where the crowd and energy was as off the charts as right before kickoff of that game.

Yes, true.  Howie just makes me nervous.  I think we have a lot of needs, and I'm not sure that QB is nearly as bad a need as some other positions.

While true, given its importance, if you have a need at QB, then that always takes precedence.

So happy that the Sixers didn't include Maxey in that Harden deal.

If the sixers get embiid, harden, maxey and Harris combining to getting 90-100 points a night they are going to be ridiculously hard to beat.

That's ambitious.  Embiid and Harden likely could hit 55 consistently.  But that means 35+ from Maxey and Harris.  Maxey has pushed his average up recently, but still getting him and Harris to consistently score 17+ each seems a bit of a stretch.  But, it's definitely possible.

eventually going to need Harris when we get deeper into the postseason. I’m hoping he begins scoring and shooting better. I still think there’s another show to drop this offseason or closer to the deadline next year where his contract becomes more palatable (expiring contract in 23-24)

Stepping up our game from RPS.

Already better than Ben Simmons

It's lazy analysis to say Hurts is #15-20 and that's that. There's more nuance to evaluating a player and how he can succeed or not. There's more to it than just where you think he ranks among the starting QBs. Never mind the method you use to rank Hurts that high is terrible...

It's football. Not everything is a computer calculation.

I agree. It came out on public NFL film that he can't read the field. He's a high end backup. That's a 3rd rounder.

This Bill Simmons riff makes me think that Doug Pederson would actually be great in the booth.

OK, Harrisburg area here....gas jumped 30 cents over night to 3.99.  I've never seen it jump that much in 24 hours.  What are the rest of you seeing?

$3.49 in northern VA yesterday, $3.44 in Southern VA.  $3.39 in TN, $3.37 in AL. Will fill up tomorrow in either western MS or eastern LA.(Vicksburg battlefield tomorrow morning.).  With Brent and West Texas Intermediate hovering around $100 a barrel, using Russia and Ukraine as an excuse as there really hasn’t been any supply tightening, of course it will jump.  Commodity trading is always fun.

Still prefer Petrie and McKinley  , but  4.2 , wow . I think he runs 4.3

Brisker is my favorite S in the draft.  Hamilton is an athletic specimen but I like Brisker’s speed and burst.  Really like Dax Hiil and but for the hiccups, he could be my favorite but that is why I like Brisker better.  Now, day 3, would love to get Pitre’s running mate, J T Woods.  Misses some angles but mad ball skills and fast. Raw talent.

Yep

As I returned to the Pulse saddle, I learned y’all love and hate Joe Buck. No in-between.
Here are some choice favorites:

Listened to the ITB podcast and Cosell talked about free agent safeties that would fit Gannon’s defense.

The No. 1 thing he mentioned was being interchangeable. He liked many of the same ones I’ve talked about — Reid, Woods, Whitehead. He really liked Red and Whitehead the best, and called Woods more of a solid safety.

He talked about Tracy Walker too, but I don’t recall what he thought of him.

He mentioned Edmonds, but was my te meh on him. He called him more of a box safety/linebacker who has played some deep safety.

If he’d have asked Simmons that, Simmons wouldn’t have come out of the locker room for the second half.

In fairness, neither would LeBron

Reid is probably my favorite for realistic free agents we might sign

Most of the stations here in South Jersey are around $3.65 right now.  They were around $3.35 last week.

Maybe Harden will actually fit in, there’s nothing like some ball-busting, truth telling, to piss off Maxey and get him going.

Greg Rosenthal ranked him #17.  Eagle Eye dedicated a big portion of a podcast to it and agreed with that ranking.

The NFL last season was one of the worst products that's ever been fielded by the league (especially from a league wide QB standpoint).  Hurts being 'in the 15-20' range is a mirage to even the most hopeful.  There's already an upgrade on the roster, but I agree...there isn't a blatant upgrade on the market via trade or draft.

This is a sad, yet accurate, tale.   No one wins anything important with QBs ranked that low as their starter, especially when accomplishing that ranking against a weak field.

He still struggles at the most important part of being an NFL QB... and no, his running ability doesn't make up for that deficit.  As a passer, he's barely one of the top 32.  And even if he's #17 (I disagree that he should be ranked that high)... the question should be, are you satisfied with that at the most important position on the field?  Frankly, I'm pretty sure he's only the 2nd best passer on the Eagles' roster.

Dude is explosive as hell, geez.

Watching TATE meltdown over Howie drafting him will be a sight to behold.

He has no idea.  All he knows, is he wants to "dunk”.  For what, I really don’t know.  I have said all along that the prudent move would be to trade one of the 1sts to build equity for 2023 and hope that the QB class is better than this years.  With that, we’ll have to go with Hurts/Minshew for 2022.  Nothing has changed that thought as of now.  And whatever the Weasel said today doesn’t change the fact that Hurts is a severely flawed passer of the football.  And as mentioned, you can’t believe a word these guys say

To summarize:  @Thrive is sad and desperate.

I’ll bet you that a QB goes in the top 10.

He's just another Hurts hugger. He may "dunk" on some people as Hurts may very well be our qb next year, but once the season starts the dunker will become the one "dunked upon".
