Which is the right approach, taking a 40 yard dash from a sprinter's stance in shorts seriously is madness. However, top speed is less important than your get off and initial acceleration and your second gear. Dan Jones runs fast once he gets up to speed, but it takes him a while to get there.

I really cant think of any HC's who did that outside of Reid, who lost one, then Won one. Did Reaves? I think it speaks to the importantance of having a franchise QB. So we know Brady, Peyton both Won SB's on two teams.

At that stage he was nothing like a franchise QB. I'm not saying this torpedoes your entire argument about a franchise QB but your boat has definitely sprung a leak.
January 20, 20223 yr I am thinking Brisker may be a must get. The combination of athleticism, physicality and tackling ability, versatility, and production. He's probably safety 1 is almost every draft except this where the ND freak is in it this year. It feels like a can't miss opportunity to get him at 15 or 16.

All the questions about his weight coming into the draft, after having one of the best seasons ever for a WR at Alabama. He’s not a pushover by any stretch, he’s just thin. Folks start talking about him being possibly a number 2 receiver and I bet no one on the the Eagles will like his reaction. I am not sure why but the Eagles did not seem to target him early in games. They should have designed their passing attack with Goedert and Smith getting at least 10 targets per game. It did not seem to me that was ever really the plan. I mean he was 39th in the league in terms of targets. He was only targeted 10 times and over twice. Goedert was 16th in terms targets for TEs but 4th in yards. Certainly a big part of this was the limitations Hurts has as a passer but part of it also appears to be a deficiency in scheme. I hope they take a look at this because I am not sure the a QB fixes the issue alone. Look at the 4th down play above, what clear thinking coach calls a play where his 2 best receivers are not the primary targets. It's not smart at all. It may be that Howie/Lurie are pushing for Reagor to be involved more but some of this seems to me to be linked to some of Sirianni's thinking/ego. Like I know if I just motivate Reagor and give him this prime chance, he will perform for me. Well that's never really a winning approach.

Chase had 24 more targets than Devonta, those 24 additional targets equated to 17 more receptions, 539 more yards and 10 more TD's. I don't think there was one go route that Smith caught from Hurts this season.

They really need to fill that WR #2 spot with a possession guy, but I would prefer a bigger bodied one over a quick twitch receiver . Pickens, Pierce, Ekunanma, Ross, etc. there's going to be quite a few of them this year. They NEED to get one in R3-5. 11 minutes ago, justrelax said: That's a helluva draft. Thank you sir. Yep, go routes are not always about arm strength either, you just make the decision and the ball gets out. I noticed this a lot with Carson Strong. Watch the play at 45 seconds. This is not long developing, he is not in the pocket waiting to make the throw. The ball is out in under 3 seconds on a go route that is 45 air yards. Just noticed that I quoted the wrong post. This was in response to @NCiggles post about Smith and go routes.

I'm sure his dad had him bulk up for the combine (bad advice). His dad is defending him and fighting his Twitter battles (bad choice by his dad). Jalen came into camp this year apparently out of shape and failed some conditioning tests. This year should be a wake up call for him that if he doesn't straighten out, this will definitely be his last year. He needs to get in better shape physically and probably see a sports psychologist to fix his head.

Brady and Peyton went to the most talented teams in the league, and Peyton was certainly NOT a franchise QB when he won (ironically he was a much better QB the years in Denver that he didn't win, the SB year was due to the running game and the defense).

But i look at the combine/pro day tests more as checks - if a guy adds 15 libs, is it useful muscle or just trying to convince scouts he's bigger than his actual playing size - and his testing will reveal if he's bigger and more athletic or bigger and slower.

Sirianni will probably be more hands on with the WRs in this camp, look for them to bring in a bunch of draft picks/UDFAs/SFAs and then churn them - they need to not only challenge Reagor, but upgrade their depth and try to develop some solid role players.
