Have never seen a player with worse body language than Reagor too.

Had that problem at TCU as well.

Yep, we already knew what we needed to know about him pre draft, and nothing has changed.

Weaknesses
  • Gets stalled by press more than expected
  • Strong cornerbacks ride and grind on early stages of route
  • Needs to maintain focus and finish his routes
  • Frustration with quarterback appeared to creep into play at times
  • Cornerbacks go unstacked on long throws
  • Uneven tape in competitive catch situations
  • Inconsistent leveraging space to catch
  • Ball skills fail to match athletic ability

Reeves never won as a HC

True, but he went to Super Bowls with multiple teams.

This coming from the guy who says we should use the picks to build a good team before we go out and get our QB of the future.  Yet you want to use those picks to go out and get a young veteran defensive player?

🤡🤡

wait...I thought we already had the QB of the future?

Only b/c we don't have access to better information. But i look at the combine/pro day tests more as checks - if a guy adds 15 libs, is it useful muscle or just trying to convince scouts he's bigger than his actual playing size - and his testing will reveal if he's bigger and more athletic or bigger and slower.

Which I'm pretty sure is exactly what happened with Reagor.  Added weight, ran slow.

Reagor is going to the be this offseason's "no way they bring this guy back" that gets said by every blogger, writer, podcaster, expert who will be playing 60% of the snaps Week 1.

Same as JJAW last year.

If only. I'd love to have a GREAT player that the team and Hurts can be enamored with.

What about the city?   Shouldn't the city also be enamored?

How sad is that, 3 seasons and about 3 games worth of production.

Is it even that high?

@RememberTheKoy forgive me that I haven't had the luxury of following every post in here so I may have missed it, but given your opinion of Hurts before the last game, what's your take on him after that game?

The Eagles got what they deserved with Reagor. Howie's comments yesterday made it seem like the blame is all on Jalen Reagor. He is the player they drafted. Everything he struggles with in his game today were problems of his at TCU. Absolutely nothing about it is surprising or disappointing.

Weight and speed has never and will never be the issue with Reagor.

Agreed... but he did arrive to the Combine heavier than they expected, and then ran slower than he himself had boasted about.  So, it was something to note.

And then we saw him come to camp and fail the conditioning test.   Just more of the same.  He's not a professional.  He didn't prepare for the Combine like a professional.  He hasn't worked since entering the league to be a professional.  He's the same guy he was at TCU, and that guy wasn't good enough then... and he's even more of a disappointment now having been in the league for 2 years and not actually improving.

I am thinking Brisker may be a must get.

The combination of athleticism, physicality and tackling ability,  versatility, and production.

He's probably safety 1 is almost every draft except this where the ND freak is in it this year.

It feels like a can't miss opportunity to get him at 15 or 16.

I have a hard time believing the Eagles will take a safety in the first.   Hamilton is probably going to be gone but it's also not a highly drafted position.  Dane Brugler had Brisker going at 56 to the Cowboys.   I don't think the team will suddenly change how they view the safety position.  My guess if they have all 3 picks they will target a DE or CB first.  The only exception might be if Hamilton falls to them.

You could replace Reagor's name with Hurts as well. Neither has improved any of the weaknesses they had coming into the league.

Now- Insert Hurts name where Reagors is and replace TCU with Alabama and Oaklahoma:

Same sheet different player.  Common denominator - HOWIE

to be fair though, when you scout/pick a guy, especially high in the draft, you've got a lot of belief in the player.  I think it is fair to expect those guys to be the last to give up on that player unless they are huge turds that makes cutting bait easier.

Don't talk about his hero, you will end up on his ignore list because he can't take the heat.

yup.

They all have "A" in their name. Agholor, Alshon, Arcega-Whiteside

Avoid A's!     Oh good, Jalen Reagor... The A is buried in the middle.  We should be good.

This myth continues.  1 year in the slot.  Just 1.

Neither is the right approach.  Game film is the right approach.

Problem is it isn't game film against NFL teams. So you need some metrics to put what you see on film in perspective, does he look fast b/c he's matched up against less athletic opponents?

And all he surrounds himself off the field with is people that talk him up, say he is great, say "next year he'll show you!" He's a lost cause. No desire to actually improve. No desire to be a professional. Just all talk.

Just say no to any Jalen's!

They'll bring Reagor back b/c there is no cost to doing so. But he'll be on a short leash, and may not make it out of training camp.

so, what have we learned here with Reagor and Hurts?

It takes both TALENT and INTANGIBLES to become the impact player you are looking for.  One or the other just won't be enough.  That's why I'm more willing to take risks with injury over talent or head/heart like Dickerson.  All players come with risk, but for me, if they don't love to play the game and have a drive to be great, then they'd better have an insane talent level to make up the difference.
