March 9, 20223 yr If I was Tampa I would roll with Trask , see what he learned watching Brady for a year , coaches apparently love him . Bucs are in a re tooling mode , lots of new faces coming this year , they will be replacing 9 starters , they will me much younger team . Keep the picks and forget about Watson

I don’t buy it, not that it matters. But if you are right, it’s the best thing Wentz has done for the Eagles - forcing himself out while he was still worth anything helping us to rebuild.

I don't think this will be past him even if the civil suits settle and there are no criminal charges. The League may very well discipline him and will face pressure to suspend him. He's as likely to play in 2022 as not. He's definitely not going to play if the civil suits are pending. I think there's a good chance the League gives him a 10 to full season suspension. I have not seen him do anything or seen anything from his side that makes me think he's remorseful. I think he's probably resentful and even if he assaulted these women doesn't believe he did. I think there's a very good chance he does something else that would cost him playing time. It's not stable behavior. The team could very well be trading for a QB that will be 29 and out of the League for 2 seasons before he starts again. Then he does something else and never plays again. Why would any mentally competent lawyer allow his client to "show remorse” when they haven’t even had charges made against them yet? 25 minutes ago, ManuManu said: You forgot the most important measurement…which of them has the larger lung capacity when hitting the sticky icky?

March 9, 20223 yr 8 minutes ago, Infam said: No, that too is opinion and not factual. Roseman, like him or not, is excellent playing the media to generate value. Just because he is not venting his anger towards Wentz like the Colts did (which was stupid and unprofessional) doesn’t mean they really wanted to keep him. Maybe it was Wentz forcing himself out. But we don’t know. We have absolutely no indication based on any of the reports coming out at that time that Wentz wanted to stay and Howie and the Eagles wanted him gone. Every single story to come out from those connected to Wentz and the team were that he did not want to be here anymore and he had issues with Howie. The Eagles wanted to keep him. The Eagles sold Wentz as the QB to the HCs they interviewed including the one they hired. Wentz wanted out and the Eagles obliged because at the end of the day Howie meant more to this organization than Wentz did.

March 9, 20223 yr 3 minutes ago, austinfan said: Ask me next January, most QBs don't hit their peak until their 4-5th season (Eli took 7), so I'd have to see how much Hurts improves this season. His upside is a more durable, more athletic Garappolo (or Jeff Garcia), who can improvise and make big plays but also run a short passing game from the pocket. He doesn't have to be a great passer, just a competent one, because his athleticism makes him dangerous. He can extend plays, and as his young WRs learn how to come back for the ball, make things happen. The running does matter b/c it allows him to make key 1st downs and keep drives alive, and it forces defenses to "spy," opening up holes underneath in coverage. He's got enough arm strength to burn teams with deep throws off play action, but he's not going to make a living off deep outs (but only a handful of QBs can make that throw). But he also needs more weapons, if Reagor makes a few key catches, we're 10-7 or 11-6, teams will focus on Smith and Goedert, so we need a big possession WR and a #2 TE who can make tough catches underneath (Stoll might be that guy, too bad Jackson got hurt). And Sanders needs to rediscover his hands or be replaced. We're not talking pro bowl weapons, just guys who can execute on 3rd down or make a screen play work. And a power back would make play action more effective. Nah, can't kick this can down the road. You asked who had more upside, so it needs to be answered now. Upside doesn't mean that they will become it, but that they could. As for what you said... I disagree vehemently that he can be any of the things you mentioned. His legs will become less and less effective as the years and hits build up, and if he never learns how to actually play from within the pocket, his effectiveness will go down, not up. I think he's already pretty much reached his ceiling in overall effectiveness. The book is out on him, and teams will be forcing him to prove he's got a new chapter to throw at them. It seems doubtful that a guy who grew up with a coach, went to the two schools currently pumping more QBs into the NFL than any others will all of a sudden reach some new plateau... he's pretty much peaked. There might be a touch more, but as he reaches that in the passing game, his running ability will begin to drop off.

We will not know if he has criminal charges until the Grand Jury makes a decision to file charges on Friday. If they do not proceed with criminal cases, interested teams will start negotiating with the Texans immediately. That's more to my side that the story wont go away

March 9, 20223 yr 8 minutes ago, Sack that QB said: You blamed Howie for Wentz wanting out. Wentz wanted out because he's a loser. A la Ben Simmons. It wasn't Howie's fault Wentz couldn't handle Hurts being drafted like a crybaby. Wentz's issues with Howie aren't what you think they are. "The Eagles are not a desired destination for QBs who have a say in where they can go." They weren't the top destination for Wilson. That's all we know right now. Rodgers didn't go anywhere. Watson is still on Houston. And even still, that's only 3 QBs. You're making a baseless generalization for all QBs based on the preference of one(Wilson). What are Went'z issues with Howie if they aren't what I think they are? Because it seems like they kind of are what you think they are based off of your first paragraph referencing Wentz getting upset over Hurts being drafted. There has never been a single report that Rodgers has ever had any interest in being traded to Philadelphia. There were reports of other teams though, none of them though the Eagles. Likewise for Watson we've gotten reports that he is not willing to waive his no trade clause for the Eagles. We have gotten reports of the teams he is interested in going to, like Miami, and those teams did not include the Eagles.

Hurts was 53 in the second round - 85 in the third round if we passed. You’re sure he would have been there, assuming you like him? No adverse comments on the other two - bad picks. Or, maybe decent picks who didn’t pan out. Please forget I include Pumphrey there. That was desperately bad.
