The reports were backed up by action. Wentz was just traded again for the second time in two years. There is nothing to back up Rodgers not wanting to come to Philly because he never even hit the trade market.

Drafting Hurts in the 2nd round after Wentz took a squad of practice squad players to the playoffs and NFC East win made no sense at all, especially when the Eagles signed him to a long term deal right before that 2019 season.  We've seen crap like that piss off other QBs.  It was a braindead move that was the straw that broke the camels back with Wentz and his relationship with the organization.  It came after Howie kept Alshon on this team way too long after he first started going to Josina and the press to complain about Wentz and even after that gave him a re-worked deal that forced the Eagles to hold onto him long after he was completely washed.  They kept Nick Foles a year too long when they should have traded him for the high 2nd round pick that Cleveland was offering.  Instead he comes back and that season plays out the way it does and it causes Wentz even further insecurity about his placement within the organization and fanbase.

 

The fact that there was never any reports of interest of Rodgers coming to Philly tells you everything when there was reports of potential interest with other teams.  Also why would you for a second believe that Rodgers would want to leave the Packers to come to Philadelphia? What upgrade is that for him? 

 

My distaste for the Eagles?  I'm one of the few people in the blog that was actually rooting for and enjoying the team this season and hoping they'd make the playoffs and rooting for them in the playoffs.  I'm just able to be honest about the fact that the Eagles in their current state being run by Roseman and not a team that top QBs want to be traded to.

The Eagles made the playoffs 3 times with Wentz as the team's starting QB and he played exactly one partial quarter of playoff football because he's always hurt. If Wentz can't handle that Howie wanted an insurance policy, that's his problem, not Howie's.

The only thing we know for certain with the QBs is that Philly was not Russell Wilson's favorite choice. Not that he dislikes Philly. Not that anyone else dislikes Philly. For certain, Wilson not having the Eagles #1 is all we know right now. Anything else is just unsubstantiated nonsense.

I'm not blaming Roseman for where Wentz's career is at.  I'm just stating the fact is that Wentz wanted to be traded from here.  The Eagles and Roseman wanted to keep Wentz but he did not want to be here because of his issues with Roseman.  It is what it is regardless of what Wentz is as a QB now.

Fact is the actions of Roseman caused Wentz to want to be traded away from this organization.  So it makes little sense why Watson, who wants to leave because of his issues with the FO, would want to be traded to team where their young franchise QB fresh on a new contract like Watson wanted to be traded because of his issues with the FO.

Essentially what you're saying is Watson will have issues with Howie because Wentz was too much of a crybaby to deal with Hurts being drafted because he couldn't stay healthy.

The Eagles scored an average of 25 points a game. Against these better teams our total point differential from the average was -20. So we didn't do appreciably worse against good teams than we did against bad ones.

Our defense gave up an average of 23 points a game. But our differential from the average was -62.

Essentially, our offense was less than a field goal worse against good teams than the rest of the league. But the defense was more than a touchdown worse.

The Eagles averaged over 23.6 points per game in those 8 games against playoff teams, with 6 of those games against teams in the top 10 in giving up fewest points.  They gave up an average of 31 points per game.  That does not exactly point the finger at the QB as the problem.

 

You can’t just look at box scores….Hurts was terrible against good teams last year. 

Here we go. 

Entering the 4th down 28 - 7 the first Tampa game but it was the defense. Down 31 - 0 in the second Tampa game in the 4th but it was the defense. 3 points against San Fran with less than 5 minutes in the game but its the defense. Down 41 - 14 against the Cowboys in the 4th and only the defenses fault. Entering the 4th Quarter only scoring 7 points against the Raiders but it's the defense fault. 

Etc, etc, etc.
