The Eagles averaged over 23.6 points per game in those 8 games against playoff teams, with 6 of those games against teams in the top 10 in giving up fewest points.  They gave up an average of 31 points per game.  That does not exactly point the finger at the QB as the problem.

They scored 23.6 until you realize:

they had a defensive touchdown in the Dallas game.

had a garbage time touchdown down 41-14 with 3 mins left against Dallas.

had a garbage time touchdown down 42-23 with less than 10 seconds against KC

had a garbage time td against the raiders down 33-14 with 4 mins left.

Defensive touchdown vs  saints by slay

had 2 to touchdowns down 31-0 in the fourth quarter of the playoff game that their defenders said our QB can’t read a defense

those garbage time or defensive touchdowns make it look much better. It drops to 17.8ppg without it. GO OFFENSE!

Here we go.

Entering the 4th down 28 - 7 the first Tampa game but it was the defense. Down 31 - 0 in the second Tampa game in the 4th but it was the defense. 3 points against San Fran with less than 5 minutes in the game but its the defense. Down 41 - 14 against the Cowboys in the 4th and only the defenses fault. Entering the 4th Quarter only scoring 7 points against the Raiders but it's the defense fault.

Etc, etc, etc.

At least you're getting it finally

So we are going with the excuses? 23 years old. Crap playcalling for the first half of the season. Inexperienced receivers. A defense that couldn't get off the field leading to a massive disparity in TOP.

Man today just keeps getting weirder…

Now do drops, penalties, receivers running out of bounds, the oline missing assignments. The playcalling. The time of possession disparity. The lack of turnovers by the defense leading to favorable field position.

You can’t just look at box scores….Hurts was terrible against good teams last year.

Three types of lies

Correct

Wrong

We would have to pay him (though it wouldn't be much) and while he's an upgrade he definitely isn't good enough given the rest of the roster to really do much for us. He isn't winning us a Superbowl.

Did you watch the games and watch Hurts and this offense?

Yes, I certainly did.  Needs improvement.  I'm not sold on Hurts as the future at QB, and you can search my posts and see that that is true.  But anyone completely writing off a guy who went 8-7 in his first season as a starter with his fourth different coaching system and offensive system in the last four years is just being a quintessential Negadelphian.

I remember the same cacophony of "dump him, he sucks" on the old boards about Jason Kelce in his first couple of seasons, and now he's a Philadelphia legend.

The only crap playcalling in the first half of the season was having Hurts pass the ball, the good playcalling in the second half of the season was limiting Hurts passing the ball

Cool let’s use those same excuses we did while wentz was here but now with hurts. I see we’ve gone full circle. Congrats on that.

Eagles Vegas favorites for Allen Robinson. Doesn't mean much obviously, but he's my favorite WR left on the market.

Yup, why design an offense to play to the team's strengths when you can have one that has us throwing timing patterns to Reagor 20 times a game.

Wentz to the Commanders?   Hows that for some intrigue

Now we get two Wentz bowls instead of one!

Quick, hit us with the "new OC every year!”

in 2020 the eagles on offense against the playoff teams averaged 20.4 ppg and had crap wrs, bad play calling, wentz played like crap, defense being worse at creating turnovers and all the other things he just mentioned.

in 2021, offense managed 19 ppg. I’d argue the eagles had a better and healthier oline most of the year. Better WRs then in 2020. Statistically a better defense than in 2020. And I’d argue about equal coaching in 2020 vs. 2021 against playoff teams. Doug wasn’t very good in 2020 either.

We’ll be plenty full eating W’s, thank you

Now do yards per play, which is actually a better measurement of offensive efficiency.

Yeah let’s play that I have one stat that fits my narrative game, when there’s 20 other stats for totally disagree with your narrative

Hmm, the defense did go from 30th to 5th in turnovers from 2020 to 2021, so you are right there.

Ooops, being told that was actually the offense.

The defense got worse, 22nd to 26th.

Yup, why use the best available measure for the efficiency of the offense when there are so many worse stats we can use.

Lol scoring points on offense doesn’t tell about how good the offense is? Next time we play I’ll remember the scoreboard says yards per play vs. yards per play. screw scoring touchdowns against playoff teams outside of garbage time.

Needs a lot of improvement. One would even say more than he can have

Lol the defense was 10th in yards allowed, 11th against the pass, 9th against the run and 18th at 22.6 ppg

in 2020, 15th against the pass, 23rd against the run and 19th total yards. Finished 20th in the league giving up 26.1ppg

yes defense was clearly worse in 2021. Lmao
