Lol the defense was 10th in yards allowed,

You just said yards don't matter.

Now they do?

And what raised the original point was that our defense far underperformed against good teams than bad ones, something that a graphic you posted showed pretty clearly.

I can't believe you are falling so far behind in a discussion you wanted to have.

They also improved taking off 3.5 points per game from 26.1 to 22.6. So yards and points they were better. Hence you are still wrong. The defense while still not good against playoff teams (in general) was still better in 2021 than 2020.

again congratulations on using the same excuses people use for Carson Wentz in 2020 but now playing it to hurts. Impressive

Yes, I certainly did.  Needs improvement.  I'm not sold on Hurts as the future at QB, and you can search my posts and see that that is true.  But anyone completely writing off a guy who went 8-7 in his first season as a starter with his fourth different coaching system and offensive system in the last four years is just being a quintessential Negadelphian.

I remember the same cacophony of "dump him, he sucks" on the old boards about Jason Kelce in his first couple of seasons, and now he's a Philadelphia legend.

This is the first time I’d heard anyone use a players coaching changes in college to defend them in the NFL.

An aging LB to go with our aging DT, DE, CB, S (if McLeod is brought back). No thanks. Time to turn the table to youth.

De'Vondre Campbell if they want to spend. Not holding my breath obviously

don’t worry I’m sure it’s a net neutral cap situation though.

Against good teams? They didn't give up 22.6 points against good teams. Do the math Einstein and get back to me. I already did, and trust me, that 22.6 number doesn't get better.

He actually has civil lawsuits against him.  We will not know if he has criminal charges until the Grand Jury makes a decision to file charges on Friday.  If they do not proceed with criminal cases, interested teams will start negotiating with the Texans immediately.

Assuming it washes out, estimate on league suspension tack  on?

6-8 games.

NFL DISCIPLINARY DECISION

Violations involving assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault will result in a baseline six-game suspension without pay, with more if aggravating factors are present, such as the use of a weapon or a crime against a child. A second offense will result in banishment from the NFL.

Maybe first player but not first poster.  Afan has used that excuse as well

they gave up 28 points in 2020 and 30 points in against playoff teams. So they both had bad defenses vs. playoff teams and yet your offense in 2020 scored more with a worse oline (more injuries from the get go), worse wrs, as bad of coaching and a defense that was actually bad in nearly every game they played in 2020. And a QB that played god awful on top of all that and yet against playoff teams they still scored more. There’s games the eagles won this year where if the defense was as bad as it was in 2020 and guys were out (like an entire secondary in Multiple games and a practice squad corner tandem) like 2020 then the eagles lose

But keep on with the excuses. Also keep thinking you are cool in arguments by using name calling. It clearly makes your point better

Assuming there are 21 offenses, is that 126 games?

I’ve been expecting @Don Corleone to pop in and give a list of prospects he has his eye on for this draft; must be quite busy with family responsibilities.  Hope all is well.

You can’t just look at box scores….Hurts was terrible against good teams last year.

I live and Montana and sometimes followed the box scores online as the game was going because I couldn’t watch some of the games. It seems like every game I couldn’t watch, he’d have like 75 yards passing deep into the third quarter but end the game with marginal numbers after garbage time. It was mind boggling, not being able to watch but to have such poor numbers so late in the game. But it was like clockwork. When I’d watch, it’d be frustrating, but following box scores it was almost hard to believe.

Yup, why design an offense to play to the team's strengths when you can have one that has us throwing timing patterns to Reagor 20 times a game.

Glad you went there.

Playing to the teams strengths involves Hurts not passing as much and taking the ball out of his hands.

Still confused why that doesn't bode well for him moving forward?

🤣😂

Is George Pickens slightly crazy?

Yes. But I wouldn't mind if he were OUR crazy.

I dont know. I just know he is the best WR in this draft. And that one against Michigan, I believe that is Daxton Hill that he embarrasses. I love the shhhh to their sideline after. Thats swag!

Hopefully neither of them turned out to be the daughter. That’d be awkward.

Essentially what you're saying is Watson will have issues with Howie because Wentz was too much of a crybaby to deal with Hurts being drafted because he couldn't stay healthy.

Ok then. Whatever.

Watson won't have issues with Howie because Watson won't ever have to deal with Howie.  He doesn't want to deal with someone like Howie in the FO that has already caused an issue with a QB in the past. This organization has been very unstable for QBs.

The Eagles averaged over 23.6 points per game in those 8 games against playoff teams, with 6 of those games against teams in the top 10 in giving up fewest points.  They gave up an average of 31 points per game.  That does not exactly point the finger at the QB as the problem.

Did you watch those games, or are you just scouting the box score?

The defense was also a problem, but the QB was bad in those games.

fyp.

Maybe a little, but at least he's physical and crazy.  Most of the crazy WRs are scared of contact and crazy.

I might add, throwing punches at a guy's helmet is not smart for a receiver. (Not smart for anyone, but really not smart for someone who needs his hands.)

He gave them the shhh before the play as well.
