What’s the old saying? "A grand Jury will indict a ham sandwich?”

The fact that they didn’t indict him, given their low threshold is very telling. There must be no evidence at all.

Of course there's no evidence.  How are you gonna get evidence from a private encounter inside a massage parlor?

Robert Kraft didn't get charged with anything either, even getting caught in a police sting operation.

Eagles would have to clear room and some. Also wouldn’t be able to sign any premium FAs.

That was my thought.  That contract is mega for the team to take on

it'll take everything to sign him, then we'll have an expensive qb and no one else, thankfully hurts will still be here

Have to give up the farm.

Not a fan of this.

Was dreaming of a young, revamped D with those 1st RD picks.

Howie is definitely making the call. Whether Watson will come here is a different story

When a player is traded, they generally lose their guaranteed money.  So he gets a new deal, with lower cap hits in 2022 and 2023 and gets his guaranteed money back.

Hurts would almost definitely be in the Watson trade or traded separately.

Just because there aren’t criminal charges doesn’t mean it never happened. Morally I can’t support the guy. Don’t care how good he is

You're in the package too though

Nope. Signed a deal that keeps me long term.

Something about needing to troll the Huggers if it goes through.

I love the guy, but Hurts is a gimmick. Get a top QB and the rest fall in place. We have 3 firsts just this year, it is literally a perfect time to do something like this.

They can just rework the deal, give him a big signing bonus and lower the cap #

If we trade for Watson we still need to sign a safety, LB in FA as we will be out of draft picks. If we do have any, it will be spent on DE/DT I would assume. We have bodies for DE/CB this year if Nelson is brought back but next year would be bleak.

If it goes down, don’t be surprised if Miles Sanders is part of the trade.

The man just wanted some fingers up the a**, ok I'll stop.

Looks like Watson got one last Happy Ending after all.

Sanders, Hurts and multiple 1sts

im being sarcastic about hurts, not a good qb at all, im not in on watson unless they get a perfect deal and dont sell the future off just to get him

A team would have to give up a whole bunch to get Watson , a couple years worth of top draft picks  and players , that team better have a quality roster now .

and of course Watson will make the call where he goes , not the Texans

Wouldn't surprise me if Goodell puts him on the exempt list

Problem with that is he'll be 28 when he is able to play in the 2023 season

Guess it would depend on if Nick and Howie think the 2023 QBs aren't worth it

Panthers have good weapons and a good D. That would be ideal landing spot for a worst to first type scenario. Instant NFC South favorites.

If they do that, how low can they go for the next 2 seasons?  The Sweat and Goedert contracts are back loaded, as I recall?  Would be interesting to see how much flex there is in his contract demands

I can see Miami or Tampa

Nothing saying they have to trade all the 1sts from this year.  They could keep 2, trade the 1st in 2023, include players, and other lower round picks.

I could see the offer being #15 this year, 1st next year, Hurts, Sanders, some of the extra 5th's and 6th's this year, and future conditional 3's that could become seconds if he is not suspended, plays the full season, whatever.

You would still have two 1sts this year, your 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

What does everyone realistically think we would have to give up to get Watson?

3 first, 2 2nd minimum, if no current players involved.
