I would bet the Eagles inquire about Brandin cooks as part of the deal for Deshaun Watson. They’ve been linked to that dude since his draft. And he’s under a reasonable contract at 16.2 (kirk expected to get $15 and he’s not as good as cooks) and still relatively young at 28.

I wouldnt like that.

Another big factor with Watson is contract. He's got 4 very reasonable (nowadays at least) years left. Huge plus

Right? Amazing he’s only 28. I’m surprised teams wouldn’t be interested in him considering the price that Mike Williams just went for. Since leaving the rams he’s had back to back 1000 yard seasons with the Texans. His numbers would’ve been better this year if their QB play wasn’t up and down all year.

I've always liked him but man how his brain isn't scrambled eggs by now is beyond me.

Mentioned this last year. Also can be restructured to save some money (which is what they were looking at if they kept wentz) and in 2023 the cap is supposed to spike significantly

This is known as the Howie Roseman Smartest GM in the League draft. I drafted purposely with the mindset of taking guys who are undervalued, and outsmarting everyone by just taking those players because you know they are good players despite what rankings may say. Be it because of a disappointing combine performance (Lloyd, Burks), or guys flying way under the radar for absolutely no reason (Jobe,  Jurgens, Haskins, Prince, Blankenship, Booker, Bolden) a bunch of these guys may seen as reaches.

I think I've finally figured out who I want to compare Burks to...CordPatt.  That's a little rich for me on him.  Tremendous talent...zero polish.

All 3 first round picks from this year for Watson, yes or no? Not saying would you like it, or if that's what you think it will cost. IF that's the pricetag do you pull the trigger?

26 year old Franchise QB. I would see what we could do. 2 this year one next?  Considering how poorly Howie has been with 1st rd picks, we most likely do much worse if we kept the picks.

You could trade Hurts away or Minshew or both and get some picks back.

I see a WR who was for a time, listed many places as the 1st WR off the board in this draft. Who just disappointed with a time slower than expected and suddenly will pretty surely be available. As a big bodied WR for a team who likely is looking for that type of guy, he is a perfect fit for what they want and presents an opportunity they probably werent expecting to have.

Im not banging the table for him. I love Pickens the most, and a whole bunch of round 2 and 3 targets. (Watson, Pierce, Metchie, etc.)

I just think the eagles are going to do this.

I get your comp based on the polish. But looking at his playing style with physical run after the catch ability, and long striding speed he reminds me a lot of TO. I also dont think our other outside guy needs a ton of polish right away with Smith drawing a ton of attention. Look at what a WR like that can do for an unpolished WR (recall the Buffalo game where Diggs opened up all of those big plays for Gabriel Davis). Gabriel Davis is also a solid comp for Burks right now. But Burks is more physical. Same sort of size and athleticism. Lack of polish as prospects.

I don't want them to get Watson.  Way too risky and it will be a massive distraction that won't just go away once he is traded.  The players will be getting a lot of questions in the locker room about it.  Hurts isn't the answer, but at least you can build up the team to get it more QB ready than it is now. If we get Watson and have all these holes, we won't win more than 5 games regardless. We were basically a 5 win team masquerading as a 9 win team last year because we played a lot of teams with bad backup QBs.  We would be more likely to win more games and go further next year by building up the defense...creating short fields... and using Hurts' mobility next year, then to have a team with subpar talent and a QB with off the field issues who has over a year of rust to shake off. If we get Watson, we would be like Seattle last year with Wilson...subpar team with a good QB (but with leadership concerns unlike Russell).

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah reports the "expectation around the league” is the Seahawks will trade for Texans QB Deshaun Watson.

Seattle has been exploring trade scenarios for Watson, with Watson expected to be traded ahead of the new league year now that his legal situation is resolved. The Seahawks have the draft capital for a Watson trade after moving on from Russell Wilson, which landed them two top-40 picks in April's draft. Watson is seven years younger than Wilson and would allow Seattle to contend this season while setting them up for the future. The Panthers and Steelers have also been connected to Watson, who has a full no-trade clause. Watson is still subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy, but there’s a chance the league waits until his civil cases are resolved before making a decision. Sitting out of 2021 could work in Watson’s favor of returning without a suspension.

We will still be playing a lot of teams in the NFC with bad quarterbacks. The difference between last year and this year is WE’D have a good one.

Unlike last year, we would have a QB who can potentially win shootouts.

AND, we will still have draft picks to improve our defense with this year.

Not as bad as last year...DeNucci, Gilbert, Heinicke, Bridgewater, Siemian, etc.

Yes because the coach who is in his 70s, the bad oline, and the terrible defense is what Watson wants

If you were to pretend the accusations never existed against Watson, yes I would do 3 first round picks.

Watson will cost most of our high draft picks.  You can count on at least dealing all our 1sts and 2nds and 3rds would be thrown in.   And, we might have to throw in some 2023s too.  No thanks.

and, he wanted out of a piss poor organization. And will go to a place that just failed to notify Bobby Wagner he was being released?

No. That wont happen.

I hope not. But, when teams start bidding, some team ends up paying far more than they should.

It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t want to go there. Seattle and Carolina are both less appealing than Philly

His feelings of where he wants to go won't affect what Houston is going to ask for. Even if he doesn't want to go to those cities, the Texans aren't going to just say only give us two firsts because he doesn't want to go to Carolina or Seattle. Houston is going to ask for the moon and tell the Eagles that Watson might change his mind and go to those cities to get the price higher.  And, those two teams won't be the only teams interested.

Add on also ticked off wilson according to reports. I still think it’s the panthers even though their oline might be the worst in the league.

He has a NTC, why would he go to the Panthers? There is nothing appealing about them including their airport. Also their BS fast pass lane and 4for4 is near there

For sure. This is a no brainer for all parties involved

It really is funny watching @RememberTheKoy twist himself into knots trying to make everybody believes that the Eagles are not the number one player in this situation
