People here acting like we if we get an improvement at QB then this team is a contending team this year disregarding the assets we would be giving up to get that QB.  Build the defense with the assets and let's see what kind of leap, if any, Jalen Hurts makes in year 3.  There is no downside.

A QB that can manufacture 1st downs amd score points in the 1st half would do wonders for the defense.

Not with that defense.  Have you completely memory holed how our defense couldn't stop top 15 QBs in the league from completing 80%+ of their passes every single time we played one?  You aren't contending with anyone with a defense that is so hopeless against the QBs you will run into in the playoffs.

they should still have a 1st, and a 2nd. Maybe a 3rd. Would improve the defense a lot. And improve the offense exponentially.

No memory loss at all, just know that a team that could get consecutive 1st downs, move the ball and score would help the defense.

In the off chance that Watson waives his NTC for the Eagles then they will be entering a rabid bidding war.  It will likely take at least all 3 of their firsts this year.

No one said it was impossible, it’s just reckless and will hamstring the team going forward. The Eagles currently have 36 million in dead cap, do you want to add another 40 million to it? That’s really good business to have 1/3 of your salary cap dead.

Houston doesn't want all three this season.   They want consecutive drafts with multiple 1st and 2nd round picks.

Help the defense do what?  The Jonathon Gannon defense seems to be no matter what let's just not get beat deep for a TD and we will let the offense have everything within 10 yards that they want every passing play.  No QB is helping that unless he is going to be suiting up on defense Chuck Bednarik style and making an impact out there on this scared scheme defense.

Yes, just like you did when you said it would cost all 3 1st round picks this year.  Those dogs are playing us!

An offense that scores points helps a defense.  An offense that doesn't score points doesn't help a defense.  Eagles need their offense to score more and their defense to give up fewer points.

It's common sense.  in a bidding war the ace up the sleeve for the Eagles is that they have 3 first round picks this year.  This is something no other team can offer the Texans so if Watson were to waive the NTC and the Eagles were all in on getting him then they will likely have to give those up if it means them or another team getting Watson.  

The defense isn't going to magically give up fewer points and be able to make stops at the end of games if they add an improvement at QB.  

So is Watson an Eagle yet?
