Helping the current scheme and building for a better QB aren't mutually exclusive. Adding a better receiving option may force a defender out of the box, helping the run game. Or help dictate coverage, making it easier for Hurts to get the ball out sooner. A good OL helps any type of offensive scheme. IMO, it's actually more on defense where scheme dictates personnel.

I don't believe I said it was most important at any point. You however said you'd get a blocking tight end because it fits Hurts play style, a QB who we are almost all in agreement shouldn't be here beyond this season at most. Congratulations on being both an idiot and not understanding your own hypocrisy.

I want a cerebral guy to lead the defense and wear the green dot. For me, that's Muma. 1 minute ago, Bacarty2 said: why would you draft a WR and waste a year of his rookie contract. He's not going to learn/grow under Hurts, and again we have so many other positions to fill. D. Smith didnt get the ball targeted to him enough last year. Neither did Goedert and we want to add another WR. Smith needs to be around 150 and DG needs to be around 125. Everyone wants a WR because it's sexy. it's dumb AF and pointless but ITSSS SOOO SEXY "Hey, we dont get our top 10 drafted WR1 enough targets, lets go spend good resources on another WR" LOL So you're cool with Smith, Watkins, Reagor, JJAW, Ward? Stop. Waste a year of his rookie contract? So since we have Hurts who ain't winning ish in this league, with that mentality, aren't we wasting a year of any rookie's contract? I'm not interested in another R1 WR by any means, but there are some guys in R3-4 who could bring a lot to the table here. He could definitely use a slot guy to move chains. 1 minute ago, Bacarty2 said: The Giants/Tampa laid the ground work for stopping Hurts. Putting Jerry Rice on the other side of Smith wouldnt help. And 2 other things Our WR/TE/RB crew probably ranks middle to 10ish in the NFL talent wise Our Defense has more holes than swiss cheese. The overwhelming majority of resources should be spent on defense Definitely lower half of the league.
March 14, 20223 yr Maybe there’s something my small brain isn’t getting but I’ve seen lots of rumors about Cox being of the trade block. However, I’m seeing it would cost us $40mil against the cap?! That would make it nearly impossible to trade him?

The overwhelming majority of resources should be spent on defense I agree. My post didn't suggest anything about resource allocation. We should be drafting on defense day 1 and 2. But we can also add a FA WR better than Reagor and JJAW. Or draft OL early on day 3. It isn't one or the other.

You guys win, The lowest passing team in the league needs to bring in another WR to get 2 targets a game. Because Goedert doesn't play wideout, and we do not have a top tier of pass catching running backs. We have Gainwell, that's it. You're ridiculously short sighted and obtuse.

Lurie/Howie are probably the main reason the Wilsons/Watsons of the NFL don't want to come here, but having better WRs certainly wouldn't have hurt in selling a franchise QB on Philly

Trading Cox immediately puts you 8.7 million over the cap. The only way to spread it over two years is to trade him post June 1st. Unlike the post June 1st cut, you can not DESIGNATE a player a post June 1 trade. You actually have to wait until June 1st to trade him.
