If we’re sticking with Hurts or going with a rookie QB then we aren’t competing next season anyway.

Better chance competing with Hurts next year and using available assets to improve the defense then to trade for Watson and rollout the same dog crap defense.

So that means you don't build your team in the interim? Do we start building you next year then? Of course not. This defense is broken, not even looking at the offense. They need a lot and it will take multiple off seasons to do it.  They can't address all the needs in the draft, not too mention their track record on drafting defense is poor.

You do, but you don’t overpay for talent if you aren’t competitive yet. If we get some guys on cheap deals, sure. Why pay a premium for a guy who may not be the same player when you are ready to compete? I’m fine with Howie using this season as another evaluation year, just not with Hurts.

Jaguars did too much coke and screwed the entire market

Yep.  Jags gave the kicking tee kid 4yrs 93mil.  Now a 3rd string slot corner wants 5yrs 140m.  Thanks Khan.

The big move you have all been waiting for.

Lurie - Did you get Ridley or Williams

Howie- No, but I tried!

Lurie- So we still have a bunch of money and draft picks?

Howie - Yes sir we sure do!!

Lurie - Add it to the Watson offer.

Howie- But sir, I drafted the future HOF'er Hurts in the 2nd round, thats my guy

Lurie - .......................... you want that basement view again?

Howie - No sir, ill call Watson now, hes probably at the spa

Ouch. Don't quit your day job, your future in comedy is bleak.

I think at this point it is very clear no one knows what is going on, who he is meeting with, who has made an actual offer, and who is the leader for Watson.

All I know is Soloman Wilcotts on SXM NFL channel said that Watson had already said no to the Eagles, so other than that I don't care too much. As long as he doesn't go in division.

That's being generous.

We got good CB #2 play & competent S play at low costs. That's a win. Wilson/Kerrigan were outright failures.

Just to make sure I have my opinion aligned here, if Watson signs anywhere other than with the Eagles, it’s because Howie sucks. Am I right?

No, it's because he either doesn't want to play for us or we don't really want to dish for him. That said Howie still sucks

You have to pay to get younger talent. That's what it is. Reid wasn't overpaid. Campbell wasn't. Williams got about what he should've. Kirk at that price? Absolutely agreed, no way. But they are missing out, things are dying up and the defense is simply not good and needs a lot.

Nope.  We already improved the defense with Reddick.  And we dropped Singleton.  And we can add a better Safety.

Also, no guarantee that those picks you treasure will make the type of impact that an elite QB would have to this offense.

Sorry.  Your strawman is flawed.

Good signing for them

Howie missed on Kerrigan and Wilson, but hit on Harris & Nelson. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss when you're not shopping on the top of the market. I'll argue he missed on Flacco, even though we somehow got a pick for him.

Hit on Harris?  He was playing so deep because of his lack of speed that the other teams were literally playing 11 on 10.

Close doesn't cut it. It's a fail. And they lost out on Reid, another fail.

It’s been a fail for sure so far.  Oh well.  Onto the draft

Oh no the Eagles didn’t sign every single free agent available because they all want to come to Philly so bad… season over

Safety is a glaring need.  And they didn’t upgrade.  Not good.

I expect Singleton back on a cheap deal. Good ST/depth guy. Just shouldn't be starting.

Yeah, it's day...2...

Good for Marcus Williams. That's a big contract. Didn't want that.

I don't think that's a terrible deal.

Eagles' season is done before it started.  Fire Howie!!!!!!

It’s day 2 of free agency. Upgrading the D-Line, which they did day 1, will help out the linebackers and secondary immensely. Not too many teams are winning Super Bowls because they have great safeties.

Russell Gage to the Bucs.

The Falcons have nothing at WR. They almost have to go WR at 8.

No, at least not from my viewpoint. It's been beaten to death he doesn't want to come here

I thought that was because Howie sucks…it’s why nobody wants to come here. That and we boo Santa and throw batteries

$14M per is a big chunk for a S. I mean, I know salaries have gone up, but compare that to Dawkins' deals:
