I'm kinda over here half waiting for MLB to do something.  C'mon, do something!  When & where's Freddie / Schwarber / Bryant gonna sign!?

6x pro bowl, 1x all pro.  This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Fletch belongs into the hall of 'pretty good players that were really important to their team' .  I don't think he's a HoFer.

I think it's close.  Cox compared to Warren Sapp is probably fair.

https://stathead.com/tiny/sLnDm It seems like Sapp is ahead of Cox in many of the stats but he played in a consistent scheme with better overall talent at time.

Cox is close in terms of TFL and FF.  Cox compares favorably to Cortez Kennedy.

So not a sure thing but definitely a possible candidate.

Good luck with Ryan’s contract being traded at that point. It’s 55.5 mil of dead money and 18.9 against the cap which they just restructured it. Not impossible but that’s a lot of money to eat on a player not on your roster and likely not great return as Ryan is older and declined last year.

Yeah it’d be an interesting situation.

The cap situation clearly doesn’t make sense for them to bring in Watson but it’s clear that Ryan is at the end of the line. When will they have another chance to get a Watson quality player? Impossible to say.

If Chandler Jones wasn't 50 he'd already be an Eagle, IMO.

I think the aspect not talk about is about how Matt Ryan would feel. He literally just restructured his contract so that they could clear up space and help with the team. And now they’re willing to just dump him off after years of being there for Deshaun Watson who doesn’t exactly have the best background right now. Curious also to see how blank handles it as he went through the entire vick situation

What would the cap space look like if Matty Ryan + another decent starter went to Houston

Falcons have 16 million in cap space, if they trade Ryan, they are 2.7 million over the cap.

If they then traded Grady Jarrett, they would be 13.8 million under the cap.  Still need to come up with 21.2 million in space to take on Watson.

Next highest savings they get in a trade is Jake Matthews gets them another 4.1 million in space.

I’m all for Chandler Jones. Need a dominant pass rusher among other things.

I like Jones, but after the Reddick signing I'm hoping we full that role through an early draft pick.

That being said if the speculation that the quality of the edge rushers in this draft is suppressing FA DE prices is true, then I guess I wouldn't hate exploiting that on a short term deal.

Matt Ryan has 2 winning seasons in the last 9 years, none since Shanahan left. He's played some of the most unispired football I've ever seen the past few years. I'd make the Watson move and say sorry to Ryan later.

Nope, then he'd be too expensive.

Eagles finally land their WR

Damn it. In all seriousness, both good depth keeps. Chachere was nice on ST, and Ward is what he is, a solid 5th-6th veteran guy.

Sure.  He can buy his tickets online or at the flamingo office, like the rest of us.

He was a better football player than Sam Mills, John Lynch, and Troy Aikman. (Just three guys off the top of my head. I’m sure there have been many more in recent years)

There's the young talent this team has been craving. Luckily we didn't overpay either, wow what a win!!

Fing Greg Ward? Are you serious?

Love how people think resigning their 5th or 6th guy stops them from upgrading the rest of the WR corps.

Greg Ward is like RTK...a useless pos

Nope.  We already improved the defense with Reddick.  And we dropped Singleton.  And we can add a better Safety.

Also, no guarantee that those picks you treasure will make the type of impact that an elite QB would have to this offense.

Sorry.  Your strawman is flawed.

The single addition of Reddick will turn this defense around form allowing 80%+ completion percentage to good QBs?  Some of you are completely delusional over what an immediate upgrade at QB would do for this team.  This team is not capable of contending with this defense as it stands today. Nor are they dealing with some ticking clock closing window.  The offense has essentially a young core to ride with into the future and  ow they need to rebuild the defense with a young core.  Reddick is a nice addition but there is much more that still needs to be done.

They could always just designate Matt Ryan as a June 1st cut instead of trading him. They would remain $16m under and then gain $8m on 6/1.

Then if they trade Grady that puts them at $32m. A couple of small moves and they could fit him in.

 He's a backup slot WR/ST guy. R-E-L-A-X. This isn't the end of their additions.

What a great fanbase.  Greg Ward works his ass off for years on the practice squad, plays a major role in the Eagles turning their 2019 season around to win the division and here we have fans calling him a useless pos.

And people wonder why elite QBs want no part of coming and playing in Philly.

This is the one team that would have made a lot of sense to me.  Lance plus some firsts.  Houston gets a talented but raw QB to develop and draft capital.  49ers are instant favorites for the SB IMO. Watson gets a stable organization, good coach, good weapons, great OL.

Sure there's more to it than that but just seemed like a good fit on paper.

I've always disliked the guy. That dislike turned into hate after he threw the ball out of the endzone on 4th down

Yeah that’s the NFL though. Business, first. Feelings, last.
