Saw the email, checked the website and had a couple hundred people in front of me, and got on a work call. When I got off the phone I just happened to glance at the screen and see that I had a pop up saying that I had to sign on or I’d lose my spot in line. 6 of the 10 minutes in the window had passed. I expect more doe tags to sell the first day than normal, but overall sales will be in line with prior years. I signed on this morning because I knew I’d be working in from of a computer all day anyway and figured I’d see when I was able to actually get in to make the purchase. The crazy thing to me is that a significant number of the people that are so worried about getting their tags are probably the same ones that would mail their pink envelopes on the Friday before they were accepted to make sure it go to the post office Monday morning for WMUs that still had tags available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DrPhilly Posted July 3, 2023 Share Posted July 3, 2023 Michigan fishing upcoming. This Thursday the 6th somewhere in northern Michigan and then up in the UP on the 11th. I have no other details as the couple we are going with booked both excursions. Guessing it will be smallmouth and maybe brown trout the first outing and then walleye fishing with some pike around. DrPhilly Posted July 7, 2023 Share Posted July 7, 2023 Update; I missed the first day of fishing due to flight getting canceled and then not getting to Michigan until almost two days later than planned. The other guy on the trip was already in Michigan so he made it. He and the guide fished for steelhead and got two strikes but didn’t land them. They switched over from flies to spinners and he caught five smallmouth. I’ll put a pic up later. Next chance is early next week up in the UP.
