And just flat out ugly and ill go out on a limb and call it racist. Eh, we don’t even know for sure if it was him in the house. I guess we’ll find out more at the trial though (if there is one). Toastrel
Not sure what perfect world you folks live in, but here in Montco, most housing developments are not real secure. Like the house Abrery supposedly walked into. I don't see a fence.

Dave Moss
Most of the houses in my area have fences, but I think in suburban and rural areas you see it less. For example:

What we're saying isn't about this case. We're just trying to tell you, that in general, no one should be going to other people job sites and looking around unattended...because apparently that isn't common sense around here. ...and when I say other people job sites...I mean property that doesn't belong to you and you're are not going there to meet the contractor or owner...because apparently that needs to be spelled out too.

Agreed. We have a ton of job site theft in Spokane. I am getting at least two calls a month from the cops asking if materials they found are things we provided to general contractors. There’s maybe two or three dozen houses in my neighborhood under construction right now and they all have fences up I think. So even if I wanted to walk onto the construction site it’s not possible ( unless I jump the fence).

I don't see anyone defending the shooting. I "think" the conversation simply got sidetracked into personal experiences with walking onto construction sites and is that ok to do or not...apart from this shooting. But you never know, has TEW weighed in yet with his legal expertise? IMO it was a lynching and murder, and I don't know how a jury could see that video and not agree. And the idea that some lawyer is going to argue to defend these guys makes my skin crawl.

As I've said multiple times, NO. I was just shocked at how many people in this thread think it's okay to just stroll into any construction site they want and look around while nobody is there. Not talking about this case at all. Talking in general.

Alpha_TATEr
Quote The former police officer accused of murdering Ahmaud Arbery worked as a chief investigator in the District Attorney's office without proper certification or arrest powers, according to new reports. Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son Travis McMichael, 34, have been charged with murder after unarmed jogger Arbery was shot dead in Brunswick, Georgia on February 23. Personnel records obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press show the elder McMichael worked for Brunswick Circuit DA Jackie Johnson's office from November 1995 through May 2019. He consistently got good performance reviews. But in 2014, the Peace Officer Standards and Training Council notified the district attorney's office that in five years since 2005, Gregory McMichael had either failed to do enough training hours or failed to take mandatory firearms or use-of-deadly force classes, documents show.
