Putting aside one’s stance on the issue, we should all agree that it is egregious and dangerous that this was leaked. Draft opinions should remain private and debated among the justices. Not every cas

History is history, even if it’s unflattering to your ideology.

If only you agreed with that all the time.

But since much of your ideology is incompatible with the truth. . .well, there it is.

It was a terrorist organization and was not sponsored by a political party.

It was only a matter of time before those who were old enough to have been there (and probably were, naked underneath their white uniform) chimed in.

You know you're killing it when you've got KKKz, Zuker, and Bacarty all aligned with you on any given topic.

I agree, the modern GOP is the spiritual successor of the KKK Democrats.  White Nationalists and nativists are the loudest voices in the party.  That is the ideology of the KKK that never died and now resides in the GOP.  History is history, between the 50's and the 80's the political poles switched and the Democrats became the big city liberals.

Holy ish of course it was. It was the Southern Democrat Party, and was absolutely affiliated with the national Democrats. Next you’ll be telling us that progressive leading lights like Woodrow Wilson and Margaret Sanger weren’t lousy racists.

yep...the repug party successfully recruited the southern racist ideology long before most of us here were born.

Not really a fan of these types of comments, regardless of who they come from. Call him a despicable moron, accuse him of giving aid to a traitor, bash him for failing to recuse himself, etc, but there's no need for racially charged language like this.

We’ve already covered this topic on this board.

History is history.

The Democrats opposed civil rights. The Dixiecrats were Democrats. These are facts.

If this actually happens, I'm personally blaming Gorsuch.

And McNabb, of course.

The party split because the national party supported civil rights in the 1948 election.

Any conversation about Republicans before Goldwater is basically talking about an entirely different party.  The modern Democrat party starts with Roosevelt and talking about anything they did before that is equally useless to our debates today.

Which does not change the facts.
