Only because I want the possibility of it to be true really bad. 1 minute ago, Mike31mt said: Read the link I just posted. This is directly from an official Catholic resource: Know what the Bible is – and what it isn't. The Bible is the story of God's relationship with the people he has called to himself. It is not intended to be read as history text, a science book, or a political manifesto. In the Bible, God teaches us the truths that we need for the sake of our salvation How do you know that's true though? Maybe everything in it literally happened.

You apparently can't comprehend simple questions which are intended to determine if we actually agree or not. Are IVF clinics murdering thousands of lives everyday, or not? Yes or no... Youre being facetious so Im responding in kind, don't play games and insult my intelligence if youd like to have an adult conversation Are those potential human lives or not?

You can't even properly express your own beliefs on these types of things without tying yourself into knots, yet you wanna talk about trying to have an adult conversation?

I've spent a lifetime listening to my relatives on my father's side debate this topic. They are all fervent Christians. So, do you dare try to offer an opinion OR are you going to stick with the lazy and dishonest (usually leftist) answer of "educate yourself"? i.e. you don't have anything to offer yourself

So, do you dare try to offer an opinion OR are you going to stick with the lazy and dishonest (usually leftist) answer of "educate yourself"? Ok youre asking how do I know which should be taken literally? I would answer that its fairly obvious Theres a pretty stark difference between the language in Revelation and the Gospels. Like, dont murder someone is pretty clear compared to "a lion with 7 heads" or whatever You guys are being obtuse to try and make a point. Smart people can be religious. Dont be naive and arrogant enough to think otherwise 2 minutes ago, Paul852 said: I wish you would have done that many years ago. I can't confirm it though because you're unable to answer the question. Not sure if it's due to a lack of conviction, or concern that you might have exposed a logical flaw in your thought process, or due to some sort of guilt from seeking said services or what.

Dont be naive and arrogant enough to think otherwise Absolutely, there are plenty of intelligent people that are religious. I'm not debating that at all. So, your answer is that "you just know". That's a problem. Same sort of answer we get from the left these days for questions they can't answer. Like, what is the definition of "woman"?

Again, I dont understand your point I literally posted the following excerpt: Know what the Bible is – and what it isn't. The Bible is the story of God's relationship with the people he has called to himself. It is not intended to be read as history text, a science book, or a political manifesto. In the Bible, God teaches us the truths that we need for the sake of our salvation The bible is a collection of various books intended for various purposes. Your question is based on a lack of understanding of the bible. You dont go from one book to the next trying to figure out which passages are literal instructions and which arent, thats not the point at all.
July 8, 20223 yr you guys care way more about west virgina mike's religion than i do. i grew up catholic & my kid attends a catholic school...and i feel that people can believe & follow whatever religion they want. but they shouldn't force those beliefs on others and sure as sheet shouldn't base laws on their particular religion. the bible isn't a law book for the united states of america.
July 8, 20223 yr Mike doesn't understand anyone's point, nor can he answer anyone's questions, but don't ridicule him for his lack of comprehension, he's just trying to have an adult conversation here folks.
