Putting aside one’s stance on the issue, we should all agree that it is egregious and dangerous that this was leaked. Draft opinions should remain private and debated among the justices. Not every cas

Agreed - not only should we buy rubbers for people, but we should also send out personal escorts for everyone to make sure they use them!

Just throwing money at something doesn't make it better - these idiots won't utilize it anyway.

The bill is about ensuring states can't criminalize rubbers and other contraception. Not buying them for people. There's no funding attached.

It's just about codifying a right that frankly shouldn't need to be codified. But that Clarence Thomas has made it clear needs to be.

I think the most amazing thing to me is how people willfully remain ignorant. Just open the bill and read it if you're so "concerned" about government spending.

Might as well ask a paraplegic to just get up and walk.

So sad that so many people have been denied access to contraception until now.

I'm still somewhat unsure what codifying any of this at the federal level does. Seems to me a state that would seek to criminalize contraception would be able to sue the federal government saying it's overstepping its authority.

That would of course put that state - and the GOP - in trial in the court of public opinion. But with Roe overturned, from a legal standpoint it seems like states could certainly challenge the right to contraception.

Intellectually dishonest losers before Roe was overturned: "why should Dems try to codify abortion? people aren't being denied access."

Intellectually dishonest losers after Dobbs: "Dems were lazy and stupid, they should have codified Roe into law"

@Gannan fwiw Fitzpatrick was one of the 8 to vote yes for the bill protecting contraception.

He's on the right side most of the time IMHO.
