Sorry, I prefer to think of him as a scientist.  ;)   Art is in the eye of the beholder.  Science... we expect the smartphone to work and charge each and every time, and when it doesn't we get pissed... just like we expect the OL to be dominant, each and every play of each and every game, and when they aren't we complain and stamp our feet about it.

A scientist preferring the word scientist. Surprising.  (Just yanking your chain).  I think we may mean the same thing.  Some scientists, artists and artisans see things that the rest of us, including those in their fields don’t.  They take it to not just a different level but a new level (Seumalo’s stance, for example.)

@Utebird is arguing that technique in the NFL and teaching it is like my high school chemistry teacher.  He had us do "experiments " that weren’t. He wasn’t doing any fine tuning or adjusting. Stout is more like a Nicola  Tesla, a Bob Fosse.  Stout sees the nuances in the physics and movements of each player and adjusts those as best he can. It takes in some but some meet their mental or physical limitations and it really isn’t where Stout wants to go.

The Eagles experimented with rebuilding Herbig.  It didn’t make him faster or quicker.  It is why I am so interested in seeing Dillard with his rebuilding. Strength and anchor were his weakness.   There were some arguing in here about just grabbing a sixth round C and letting Stout build a new C.  An artist is limited by the stone or clay that he/she has to work with. That premise is flawed.  That results in a Herbig, a Matt Pryor.

Has there been Any mention from any coaches that Dillard is going to be tried out at guard or is it just  fan speculation due to him gaining that infamous 10-15 lbs of off-season muscle?

Dillard lost to Mailata because of strength and anchor.  So he was shown how to fix that. We will see.

I agree, except, same old, same old....

Did you miss the DL discussion.  @justrelax on the 4i?  Yes, we have the same repetitive discussion about Hurts going on.  But there are some nuggets.  We can discuss how the LB corp is being reshaped in part because of the DL approach. I think we have an inkling on how Gannon’s from seven are shaping up.  The goal seems to be to collapse the pocket and keep the LBs clean, sort of like Tampa’s LBs. We have seen similar from BB and the Ravens over the years.  I do think he will mix it up, but I think the goal is to have the LBs be able to run sideline to sideline and do a much better job in coverage this year.

I still wonder about the secondary design and schemes. The stockpiling of DBs with CB skill sets makes me wonder if they might transition to a Cover 1 scheme with a single high S and the other DBs on the field not necessarily including a S in the mix.  Shall be interesting.  Your thoughts?

Interesting as to who people would have as their top 5. I’d have some order of

Stafford-Kupp

burrow-chase

mahomes-kelce (although thats Qb-TE)

Allen-Diggs

Brady-Evans/Godwin

(If no tight end can be used it’s likely Herbert-Allen or cousins-Jefferson (cousins is what he is which is top 15 QB but that Connection with Jefferson is really good)).

Honestly....that duo probably isn't very high if we really sat and thought about it.

At what point do we discuss is Hurts swag has evolved in to drip?

Is mustard strictly a low-brow condiment for the bottom of the nutritional chain?  When I was a kid it was good on a bologna sandwich, it works really well on a hot dog — but I can’t think of a use for it on much else.  I don’t even think mustard works on a hamburger. Certainly not on a steak or prime rib.

It seems to be the vegetable equivalent of jam.

As a spice mustard works well in combination with other spices but the yellow stuff from French’s, not so much.

Amazing that someone with "a burning desire to improve" and "more heart than the next guy" finds times to make hype videos and take pictures all of the time.

You'd think that maybe those things were being overblown, but here we are.

I've been having similar thoughts. As I said when I posted on the 4i, its primary purpose is to control the opponent's run game with four guys - the two DTs, the NT, and the MLB. The two OLBs are responsible for the flats, setting the edge, and rushing the passer. On occasion, they drop into coverage, particularly against TEs.

That leaves five guys and I agree that Gannon will often deploy them in a 4-1 alignment, quarters, if you will, with a single high safety and four CBs. This puts a lot of stress on the MLB but we have just the right guy for it. So, call it a 5-1-5 or 5-1-4-1.

The defense is extremely flexible because, going back to its roots, it controls the run game with four guys, leaving seven guys to do any number of things - blitz, cover-2, cover-3, etc. and we can rush and blitz from any angle. If you think on it, the two OLBs are already in a wide-9 alignment, just as a single example. From this alignment we can rush 3, 4, or 5 without giving anything away.

And the key to this defense as I said before, is to have that monster in the middle.

That's a bit of a reach, he's taller but Cox is pretty wide and looks more barrel chested. His lower body looks thicker too. I don't see him as looking small next to Davis.

Bought porksteaks and wife decided to marinate them in some McCormick sriracha seasoning. 🤦‍♂️

Agreed.  I loved dipping carrots in mustard.  My school lunch was a Lebanon baloney and cheese sandwich with mustard on both sides of the bread from kindergarten through 6th grade.  Never anything else.
