Im not a relish guy either , but I would say any steak sauce is up there as well as completely worthless. A good steak does not need anything. If you need a steak sauce to bring more flavor in a steak then you are buying crap.

Yup. A1 is the worst condiment. Serves no purpose. Relish is at least solid for a tuna salad. Mustard has plenty of uses. A1 and steak sauces are just awful. Cocktail sauce kinda blows too but I guess it's ok with chilled shrimp. Not my go to but I'll put it above a1

Steak sauce is used to determine if the person understands how to eat steak or not.   It was useful for me in my younger years though, because my family cooked every bit of meat to well done, and often beyond!  Just a dry, bland, sad piece of meat (usually a London burnt.... I mean, broil.).  The steak sauce added some moisture.  

 

But, yes, if you do a steak properly, salt, pepper, garlic... and you can add a few more things to the rub before cooking if desired.  Add a small tab of butter to the top at the end, but this is also optional and shouldn't be required.

Nonsense. A quick sauce of mayo, dill relish, with a shot of tabasco is great on a fried fish sandwich.

You can't have a Po Boy without remoulade and you can't have a remoulade without relish. It's what's listed above plus horseradish.

Since we're talking condiments, this stuff is one of my best discovery's in the past decade:

Black garlic molasses. Very subtle garlic flavor but mostly a big umami kick with a touch of sweet. A bottle is expensive but it lasts awhile.  Insanely good drizzled over roasted veggies or over seafood (especially raw). Highly recommend.
