I think Sirianni and the offensive coaches deserve a lot of credit. Last year's offense was about as good as you can expect from an offense with Hurts at QB.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Sirianni basically gets a pass from me until he has a QB who can run a functional NFL offense.

Yup, the fact that he has to dumb down his offense to be run focused because his QB can't pass shows that we can't judge him yet.  Now, if he has to do that again this year and continues with Hurts, then I have a big problem with the coach.

Can’t believe Lamar Jackson threw 36 TD that year (and only 6 INT). He’s fallen off a cliff in the passing game.

Gimmicks dont last long in the nfl

I mean, it wasn't a gimmick though. It was just a power running game, with the read option off of it, plus play action. It's a scheme that works consistently.

You gotta admit this is pretty good. I snapped this shot walking into the Saints game this last year.

Didn’t he say Doug Pederson was the worst coach in the league in 2017?

The dilemma with Gannon is if he’s good he’ll be gone for a HC job. If he sucks he should be fired. Not many scenarios where he should be back as DC next year.

I wouldn’t hire a DC to be my HC unless it was an older guy and I really needed stability. It’s all about the offense baby

Who has the most to prove in 2022 with the talent around them. Sirianni, Gannon, or Hurts.

Sirianni is kind of an under the radar one. It’s widely accepted he had a good year in 2021, and I guess he did, but I still have no idea how good of a coach the dude is. They basically ran the ball down the throats of bad teams and were terrible against teams above .500. I have no idea how to evaluate that coaching job, honestly. I was hoping for at least one game where they came in as heavy underdogs and he came in there and out coached the better team just one time and it didn’t happen.

As for the question, I’m going to Gannon. Main reason: the defense had the biggest turnover and Gannon had way more hype than Hurts did. When the Eagles hired Gannon don’t forget he was labeled by some as this genius DC everyone was gushing over him and he was as ordinary as it gets. Now all the Gannon stans in the media are like "now he has all the pieces he can run his real defense!” Ok, then it better be impressive. If we see bums like Davis Mills completing 75% passes on this defense all year, then this dude is a fraud.

Hurts because I don't think Gannon gets fired if the defense isn't great. Hurts is getting replaced if he doesn't show that he's the future

I think Gannon will be on the hot seat if the defense sucks

I though that was some clown named Mike Lombardi.

I hate dome stadiums but I dig the uniqueness of this with it all being red.  I wonder if there will be a constant red tint to the lighting in there.

making everyone in attendance appear red...even their skin?

The offense has 1 new starter and the defense has up to 6 (arguably all upgrades). I would say the pressure is on Gannon over Sirianni from a coaching perspective but Hurts the most from an organizational perspective. 2 1st rounders next draft he is easily replaced.

I'm debating. Game Pass was just awful last year.

Yes it was.  Hopefully they fixed it.

I couldn't even use Game Pass on my laptop last year. I could login, but nothing would be there. Had to use my cellphone to watch replays of games. I checked a few days ago and it's working normally on my laptop. For now.

Just you wait till I turn this bad boy from a Rollins to Wentz to Brown jersey

Saw this posted a few pages back too. It's an okay motion, but there are some flaws here for sure. It's too long of a motion and his arm is too straight when he's extending it so far behind his head (you want it at 90 degrees). He's doing too much with his elbow too, which makes him more of an arm thrower/less body involved. Leads to less accuracy.

My whole issue with this is, am I to believe Captain Intangibles, who will never work harder, put in all the work to get better, just suddenly now is working with a passing coach who will change everything about him? Has he never tried to change his throwing motions? Or did all his faults get brought up before with the multiple coaches he worked with, and once the whistle blows everything reverts back to the same?

I’d bet on the latter.

Whats the story with Moreland? Why has be been bouncing around to different teams?

He’s a JAG.  Right now, the depth chart at slot is Maddox, Scott, Vincent, Moreland.

Without Hurts mastering the "throw more, run less” technique, his throwing motion won’t mean squat in the grand scheme.  Distribute the football

Gannon by a mile. He has no reason to not field a top echelon defense, especially considering the QBs we will face this year.

With Hurts, we already know his limitations, and most don't expect him to be the QB of the future anyways.
