I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Yeah but it didn't last very long.  He had a good stretch of 10 games or so.

yeah, it was such a tease.  Some of the best, most exciting football we've seen as Eagles fans.  Also earned himself a $100 million contract during that stretch.

PTSD doesn’t require a trigger. Had a friend who was a jungle rat in Nam. Silence outdoors at night could leave him shaking uncontrollably.

So wouldn't silence be the trigger?

It would seem so

IOW garbage time

Can't we come up with a better name for it than garbage time?   That seems so pejorative.  Maybe something like 'soon to be fertilizer time'.  'Pre-shower' time.  'Leave now to beat the traffic' time.

How about the "defense is all but on the way home" time?

But isn't that the first two quarters when we are down 17-0 going into halftime?

I didnt watch a lot of Stanford last year but in years past they play a system similar to what we see in the NFL. Not a lot of RPO's, actually running routes, etc so it makes sense.

"Not a lot of RPO's" - But I thought RPOs were good

I'd wonder how much this is a CTE case.  Barber was a nasty, physical runner and ran the ball a lot.  I loved watching him, hated that he was a Cowboy.

Side note.  Lawrence Maroney and Marion Barber were as good a 1-2 punch at Minnesota as I can remember in college football.  Loved watching them.  Up there with Cadillac Williams and former Eagle great, Ronnie Brown.

How about "Prescott earns his contract” time

Lurie should be arrested, that’s disgusting

Beyond the horrible phrasing, this is an even worse idea

I dont care how qualified he is, its not worth it to hire your freaking son.  If hes so qualified let him get a job in another organization.  Nepotism will cause all sorts of problems that arent needed

I think you know that's not how the NFL owners thing works. He's grooming him in the family business happens all over America all the time

Yeah.  Pretty silly assertion to suggest he get groomed with another team.  My bigger concern is that Lurie created an Analytics position for his son.  Analytics is not the baseline.

It's a tool

Yeah if you have a small parts repair shop or something

Not a multi million dollar business, its not a good idea just like hiring people based on their skin color or gender

Hire the most qualified candidate, which I can guarantee he is not.  It wont sit well with his peers and god bless anyone who he comes into professional conflict with

Why are we grooming him?  The tweet said he was already groomed.  Again it feels dirty using that word but he should already be fully-qualified for the job based on his resume and not his last name

WUT.....

Yeah

That would be the principled, ethical way of getting your son into the business.

This isnt Luries HVAC Repair.  The Eagles are worth hundreds of millions of dollars and should be scouring the earth for the best and brightest.

Its wrong, I dont care if thats the way its always been done.

2021 Forbes value of the Eagles

$3.8 BILLION.

Agreed, I want nothing to do with his son being groomed for any role with the Eagles.

Howie has competition for most punchable face now though

Why Julian Lurie's presence at the Senior Bowl matters; Eagles QB Jalen Hurts to undergo ankle surgery - The Athletic

You’ve been in the real world, haven’t you?   And when I say "real world” I don’t mean West Virginia.

Like I said, if this was Jeffs HVAC Repair and he wants to bring his son along to show him the ropes, OK

But its not, this is big business.

Its one thing to transfer ownership upon death or poor health.  But this is phony baloney nonsense and everyone knows it.

I would absolutely love for all of the competition to start appointing their sons, daughters, nephews, and uncles to positions within their organization.  Im sure it will totally work out.
