Stubs pinky toe at practice, out for year. Easy enough

Once you practice though you are ineligible for pup.  You have to enter training camp on pup I'm pretty sure.

Good god RTK is dumb.  Like a guy has never gone through training camp and then been placed on season ending IR with an injury.

Last year it happened.

JACK DRISCOLL

Driscoll wasn’t an obvious IR candidate; he suffered a pectoral strain that we previously didn’t know about. His absence further justifies the Eagles keeping Brett Toth and Andre Dillard behind starters Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Philly also made it a point to retain Le’Raven Clark on the practice squad.

The Athletic has the Eagles at #5 in the best skill group in the league. This includes WRs, TEs, FBs, RBs. That checks.

  1. Bengals
  2. Dolphins
  3. Raiders
  4. 49ers
  5. Eagles
  6. Bucs
  7. Rams
  8. Seahawks
  9. Chargers
  10. Steelers

Quite a difference a year makes.

ESPN had us 29th last year, 10th in 2020 and fourth in 2019. So we have been in a tailspin, but turned it around pretty good.

I don't see how the Eagles are this high when they don't have a FB and the RB room is Miles Sanders, a UDFA, and 3 sub-200lbs backs. Yes, they have a pretty solid WR group, but do they really have a solid TE group? Goedert and... Rodgers? Stoll? Calcaterra? I'm also not completely sold on Goedert being in that upper tier of TE's, he was credited with 5 drops and some of them were very routine catches.

Rams and Bucs are better than the Eagles without a doubt.

Offseason hype is the bestest.,

I think I'd have Bucs and Rams ahead, but it's close. Interesting they call Godwin "elite" but Evans just "very good".

Well he'll also be playing against a bunch of scrubs on D as well.

Hopefully the eagles scrubs are better than the other teams scrubs

Yeah, but what kind of cohesiveness do you think the OL he is playing behind will have?  Against DEs and DTs that are trying to show pass rush moves worthy of a bottom of the roster/PS spot.  Easier to play DL than OL in a scrum.  Plus, in the passing game a lot depends on timing and route accuracy. Of the list playing with Strong, only Ward and maybe Cain and Hightower are likely to fit that.  Doesn’t bode well for a not very mobile QB.  What will be interesting is who plays first, Sinnett or Strong.  They will likely battle some early in TC.

Goedert finished 5th in receiving yards last year by tight ends. Here's a crazy stat look at the targets by top 9 TE's last year

Andrews - 153 targets  107 receptions 1,361 yards
Kelce - 134 targets 92 receptions 1,125 yards
Pitts - 110 targets 68 receptions 1,026 yards
Kittle - 94 targets 71 receptions 910 yards
Goedert 76 targets 56 receptions 830 yards
Shultz - 104 targets 78 receptions 808 yards
Gronk - 89 targets 55 receptions and 802 yards
Gesicki  - 112 targets 73 receptions 780 yards
Ertz - 112 targets 74 receptions 763 yards

If you average the other top 8 that is 113.5 targets.  Gotta think that # of target goes up this year

Goedert is a monster. Most underrated player on the team.

The "realists" wanna give him grief because his hands aren't absolutely perfect.

He drops some easy passes. The best right ends have better hands than him. Put the Pom poms down

He is probably in the 2nd tier of TE's, but I would not put him in the top. I don't think he is a "monster" TE, I think those are far and few between. Gronk in his prime, Gates, Gonzalez, etc.

My original comment was not meant to say Goedert isn't good, it's that the Eagles have Goedert and nothing proven behind him. Which is why I question the high ranking the athletic gave the Birds for their skill position groups.

They are just looking at the top 5 options for each team

I think he can be a top 5 TE if he fixes his drops and has a QB that can get him the ball.

He doesn't have a QB that can get him the ball? He quite productive and getting consistent targets once Ertz was traded.

Evans has 8 straight 1000 yard seasons to start his career, with another this year he is in the top 50 all time in receiving yards.

He should move into the top 25 all time in receiving TD's this year.

In two years he will be in the top 50 all time in receptions.

What a scrub.

@RememberTheKoy, didn't all of those playoff wins come in the season that was over the moment Carson Wentz tore his ACL ???

I would definitely put the Bucs and Rams ahead of the Birds there, and I would also say a case could be made for the Chargers.

Very much agree here. I'm not saying he can't be a top 5 TE, but he really needs to work on those drops. Kelce had a significantly higher drop % than Goedert, but he had almost double the targets. This will be Goedert's first time as the main TE for the whole season, so we will see if he can stay healthy and carry the load.

And hopefully this does not turn into a Wentz / Ertz situation with Hurts and Brown, with Brown dominating targets to the detriment of others.

Gainwell is 200, Scott 203.  People always underestimate Scott’s bulk given how short he is. Really solidly built and great center of gravity. Wouldn’t be surprised if Gainwell has added some muscle this offseason. So Huntley is the only sub 200 lb back.  Pre concussion and "retirement” Calcaterra was probably a Day 2 pick. Not scrubs but a decent back upmTE competition. You left off Jackson, although likely a PUP to start the year.

And who can forget AFan’s correct prediction of JJAW to TE.  (Last one a bit tongue in cheek).

A lot of talk about if Hurts doesn't work out we draft one in next years draft.  Do you think we might trade those 2 first rounders for an established top 10-15 QB... If so which one(s) do you think we could realistically obtain?

Nope, the QB of the future is already on the roster, they will use those picks to build around Carson Strong.

I think it all comes down to his knee.
