Everyone says that this team has no holes.  They did a good job checking all the boxes with guys that can play.  While there are no glaring weakness, I would also argue that there is no dominant identity or strength.  This is a team with few, if any, true stars that can take over a game.  With respect to AJ Brown, there is no elite weapon on offense.  The running identity (which is a problem unto itself) doesn't even feature a high end running back, with apologies to Miles Sanders.  The fearsome OL run blocks well and has a ton of potential, but they still need to clean up and refine their pass protection.  The defense lacks any truly elite or disruptive players.

I see lots of quality starters, but no players that keep the opposing team up at night, no players that dominate matchups week in and week out.

Star power can't win you a title when you surround your stars with liabilities, but I think this season will show that the Eagles really could use some of that in certain high leverage positions.

 CB will be an issue if Slay gets injured and misses 4-5 games towards the end of the season.  This might be the season everyone finds out that Smith isn’t a soft spoken, nice kid who just likes playing football, if Brown gets targeted 4-5 more times per game, Smith is gonna snap unless the Eagles are a legit playoff team. He didn’t throw his helmet in the Giants game because Reagor dropped the pass. 
 Davis is a wild card, if he’s getting double teamed on just 1/2 of his snaps, Fletch or Hargrave should have a really good year. Gannon has to use Reddick the right way as well, if he’s putting Reddick into coverage more than 9-10 snaps a game then signing him was a waste of money.
 If the Eagles run a NFL offense this season, it still boils down to Hurts, and when you’re 32nd in motion, it’s like Greg Cosell said, "it’s a high school passing offense.”  That’s on Siriani and Steichen to call plays Hurts has confidence in, meaning, every time you put a RB to his left and he runs in front of Hurts to throw a block right after the snap, Hurts runs a 180 for no apparent reason, then he can’t find an open receiver until it’s too late. That protection should have never been called in the playoff game (it was too much) if Hurts had issues  running it during the regular season (he did).

Hurts throwing 30 less passes this season, yet having 20 additional TD passes and almost 500 extra yards rushing — that’s a bet I’d be against for sure.

Never mind that Jackson did it in his 2nd season, while Hurts is about to start his 3rd.

Of course.  It was never an option, but that was their preference... and they fixated on him so much they never got a chance to find an alternative.  Shame that a better WR than both Ruggs and Reagor didnt fall right in their lap that year.

Lots of trains run through The Gallery / Fashion District.

Not a lot of parking in that area.
