I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

We (the EMB) currently sit at just over 940,000 posts. We're on pace for about 40,000 posts for the month of May. So it's looking like we'll break 1,000,000 posts within the first couple of weeks of J

Agree.

In my mind it was failure to think he could ever break those tendecies. The first clue of that was him doing circles in clean pockets when he doesn't know what to do. When he gets uncomfortable, or unsure, his legs start moving, involuntarily.

Unfortunately we have all season to watch this, I could be wrong, but I dont think this will end well.

Ialso agree Might as well let strong develop what he can?  But likely he isn't ready to be playing early in the season anyway.

It should be enough to beat Detroit, Jacksonville, Houston, Chicago, and hopefully New York and Washington twice.

But as we say last year, that was a struggle against bad teams with QB's who were on the coach a week before the game.

If you check that link @NCiggles posted, you'll see a different take on what Hurts did.

I'll be happy to be proven wrong after the season is over. If Hurts can develop into a real pocket passer with his ability to rn, it would be great for the team and the fans.

I'll just wait until the season is over to get the full picture. The reason why has got to with with teams taking away his running lanes and forcing him to stay in the pocket to beat them. Till that happens and we see that on the field, (which likely wont happen until we play some of the better teams, likely in the playoffs again).  Then all of the reports are just talk.

I need to see it on the field when it matters. I hope it does happen. I just have serious doubts.

Great so he will take off running s split second sooner..

j/k

Cobb says that he was making shorter accurate throws to check downs during the practice.  ESP's tweet, FWIW, does seem to indicate that he was passing rather than taking off in practice. (which was something he did last Training Camp).  I don't know that he will be able to continue that into the season or during games but in my view it would be a major improvement if he does.  Again, I am just trying to find observations of the practice and how it went because I'm interested in how he will do.

I don't have any illusions about Hurts improving but if I am given a choice about whether I want to see him do well or do poorly, I would choose doing well.  I still think they need to move on from him if there is a better prospect in the draft.  I think the bar to keep him as a starter in 2023 without real competition is very high.  That's not to say that I am not rooting for him to succeed.

I mean that's Pavlovian conditioning.

One 58 min practice in shorts.

Yup - Still better than last year's start.  It is meaningless unless it translates into game performance.  It will be meaningful if he isn't consistently better in this year's TC vs. last year's.  If he doesn't have more good days than bad days at practice where he's getting rid of the ball, shows better accuracy and doesn't look to run, then that's pretty indicative that he has no chance at really being any better.

Good thing the Bucs practiced hard.

Except they didn't practice hard. Today is day 2 of their TC. The supposedly "safe" way to practice.

I am sure Siriani is part of the plan that if Hurts does not work out he will be part of the choice of QB's in the 2023 draft.  If the Eagles were all in on Hurts, they could have used 3 first round picks this year and really loaded up on talent, but they have hedged their bet and have the capital they need to get a 2023 QB.

The only issue with the play, is they picked the wrong trade partner, and I think the Saints will finish with a lower draft pick than the Eagles.

I see some people projecting top-10 pick and others saying Saints make the playoffs. I personally think that pick is somewhere between 15-22.

Hurt's is getting hurt this year. Unsure when, or how long, but he's missing time

Cool what’s the mega millions?

I agree that it proves nothing. What I found more interesting is the different perceptions of the reporters. Kind of like the three blind men with the elephant.

I kinda doubt they beat the Giants twice too.

That is why I said hopefully

My guess, Eagles have the 16th pick, Saints have the 18th / 19th pick.

I'm picking the Eagles to go 10-7 and the Saints 8-9.  No Payton, Thomas will never be a top 10 WR again, Kamara suspension, Winston will revert to being Mr. 30/30

Landry, Olave, Trequan Smith now 4th on the depth chart.  And as I keep having to hear in regards to Hurts beating them, they still have a top 10 defense.

Post of the day.  So simple, yet to hard for bacarty to figure out.

He was a "sleeper/riser" on a lot of draft sites during that year if I'm remembering right.
